I hear that "he does not need a trial" line all the time. That's insane. What Sandra is really saying is that we should allow the police to determine who is guilty and carry out the punishment with no questions asked. Uh, and who are "people like them"?

I don't know this sandra person but I do know that when people get angry they have a tendency to not think about what they are saying. What I think she meant by "those people" or whatever she said was simply the type of person who thinks they can just take whatever they want from and physically hurt whomever without consequences. This situation frankly makes me very mad that a good kid was taken from his family by someone who wanted his laptop. The sad thing is that at one point in life the guys who did this were most likely good kids too and now no one is.
"People like them" means people who break into houses and kill those who live there.
people like them = burglars, robbers, criminals in general.
People like them = anyone who does not belong in the same demographic as Archie Bunker.

Barry, I am assuming you took this to be a racist comment since he is black? If you had read this comment without seeing his picture, would you have immediately thought it was racist? When I read it, I paid no attention to his skin color - I focused on his actions. "People like them" in the context of this story = sorry individuals who give no regard to human life! Just a selfish individual who cares more about what HE wants with no regard to how it will affect anyone else. He is beyond selfish and just a horrible person.
