Cops Make Huge Mistake

I've been telling you there something weird about this case. This is the one we've been following all week where this kid was killed when he went home at lunch with his sister. Cops make and arrest and then today -- you never see this happen -- say they were wrong. To call him a "person of interest" means nothing. That's a made up term, and they are just using it here to cover there arses from too much bad press.
Edit: A commenter reminded me of my post below where the lady wrote on Facebook that the first guy that was arrested should have been executed immediately. Wonder if she is rethinking that.

Bridgeport ISD makes a huge mistake, too! Ever heard of the "Fun Run?" Or as I like to refer to it as the "Not-so-fun run!" Twice a year they parade the kids out and set them up to race a mile. They don't call it a race, but after the race they are given a card giving them their "place." They all go around ocmparing who "won" when it is over.

Today, I saw 2 ambulances called as kids passed out attempting the mile! I saw another little girl come across the finish line with her eyes rolling back in her head and a man pick her up and tend to her, also. My point is: Why in the world do they do this without adequately training the kids to run the mile? They bring them out and just blow the whistle and go. Hopefully after today, someone with some sense will re-evaluate the situation and either start conditioning these kids before the big day, or else cancel it all-together!

You have never said why you think something is weird about this case, however I think I know why you wouldn't want to speculate at this time.

7:21, Not that long ago, running a mile was not a problem at all for every kid in school that was not disabled. Years ago, we all looked forward to those days when we could run unbridled with our classmates. Today, many kids are not capable of running a mile. In ten years, they'll have to put moving walkways in school halls. In twenty years, we'll be so out of condition that school will be remote, electronically delivered to the students' bed or couch as to not exert anyone needlessly. Very, very sad what's happening. I am about 5 foot 10 inches, weigh nearly 180 pounds, carry it pretty well...but on a recent trip to different Asian cities and
European cities, I became aware that I was just about the fattest guy within sight. Around here, I look like a skeleton when I'm among the "herd" at Wal Mart or wherever. Parents LOVE to blame schools or anyone else instead of themselves when their kids have issues. We'd rather wait 20 minutes in our cars at a drive thru than park, walk in and find nobody in line, and get our food or drink. Even Sonic, a drive in, now has drive thru. Say moooooooo.

7:21 what you are talking about is probably the state mile run. I am almost positive that most schools have to do it. Im sure its all about state funding. The school I teach at does it to. That was just Bport's way of making it "fun" instead of making it something that the kids have to do. Try not to blame the school itself first, usually everything we do at that level is sparked by something the state level does. AND... that just goes to show that we are not teaching our kids about physical fitness at home. I am pretty sure thats the point the state is trying to make. The obesity rate is outrageous! Kids play outside less and less and inside on video games more and more. And the fact that you compare the BISD "mistake" to the mistake of the murder of this young man seems a little silly. Teach your kids to run and play outside and then there wont be a mile requirement by the state or local level.

7:21, how fat are you?

Where in the article did they say "We were wrong?" On the news they indicated they lacked enough evidence to keep the charge right now. Needing some more evidence. The police may have jumped the gun but I never heard or saw "We were wrong."

"Person of interest" is a term that has been used since before you were born in law enforcement circles.

I'm with you, something is just wrong about this. Middle of the day, sister runs out of the house, middle class neighborhood..PD makes an arrest to make the public happy, then fail.

I'll hang up and listen to how people twist this to Obama.

I wonder if Sandra on your post below still thinks he doesn't need a trial?

7:21, maybe they should all ride in those little Walmart self controlled carts, huh? Fatty

I'm glad someone on the police force had big enough b*lls to own up to the problem! Just please hurry and find these thugs who snuffed out such a young, promising life at the price of 3 lap tops. Sheesh!

The students train almost all year for the Fun Run. They run every day at the beginning of the two PE classes, and in the weeks leading up to the Fun Runs every extra class runs--even the kids in music! It was a humid day, and the kids got dehydrated. Nothing more drastic than that. To bring that up in a post about a young man's murder is a pretty nasty comparison. I hope you never do find out what it's like to deal with a huge mistake like that one.

When Obammy found out the person arrested was a Muslim, he called the FWPD and ordered the "person of interest" released immediately. Are you happy now 8:51?

I would like to know the average weight of an eight grader today and twenty years ago. There is not much strain on one using theese two thumb idiot toy games.DAGO

Barry you would be the first to be critical of police if they continued to detain someone on insufficient evidence. You ever see police do a little catch and release in order to obtain evidence or more detail. Everyones and expert until it's time to do the job.

In response to my earlier comment, my child is very conditioned and ran the mile with no trouble whatsoever. I realize, however, that many of the kids were not to the level that they needed to run that mile. And no, they weren't "trained" in their PE class. They were made to run the first 5 minutes of their PE class - hardly a mile!

The schools "train" all year long for the TAKS test. They gear most every single aspect of their day around TAKS and state mandates. If the state mandates a mile run, then get those kids ready for it! Work them up to a 1/2 mile, 3/4 mile and then a mile.

I have heard from several adults that have run the race with their kids, that that course is very hard to run (out on the street and mostly uphill). I don't think they take that into account, either.

Makes jokes or slam me if it makes you feel better. I just feel that some changes need to be made. And BISD needs to look into this matter if they want to continue the not-so-fun-run!

i think the nigger did it..!

Come on, please. Check with the PE instructors and principal about the fun run. Never heard of problems before. These ladies are so professional and careful. And what does this have to do with the teen's murder?
