Not that this is all that big of a deal, but why are they replacing the bridge on 287 that crosses over FM 730 (by James Wood Motors)? That thing is relatively new, isn't it?

Because civil engineering is big business in Texas. They all watch after each other and milk the system. Most are out of Texas A&M.
8:14, the only reason that highways and bridges are built and rebuilt is because you continue to drive and utilize highways and bridges. Park your vehicle for good, and get everybody else to do so, and I promise there won't be any more evil highway projects.
Is there another road with traffic like 287 that has all the cross-overs like Decatur? Also, the ramp from 380 East onto 287 South should be looked at! The cross-over on 287 just ahead of that ramp entrance should have been closed. Dangerous! I understand you need Hwy exits and entrances, but these that are simple cross overs are crazy and the location of serious accidents. Poor Planning and even Worse...NO Common Sense
If I'm not mistaken that bridge was on the list of 100 most dangerous bridges in Texas a couple of years ago--the question should be why are they just now working on it?
This is for all the people before me that had no idea and just wanted to sound important----------an engineer with TX-DOT said that it had something to do with the metal that was used in the support beams..............................
At the point of the photo, you are northeast bound on FM730. Can you see the cross traffic entering from the north bound US 287 service road? They cannot see you either! This is typical Wise County traffic engineering.

It's had a hole in it that I've seen them try to fix at least twice and it didnt work! That is why I think they are replacing it!
Part of Obammy's master plan. That is one of those shovel ready jobs to temporarily employ mexicans to try to make his unemployment numbers look good.

Ehhh.....maybe there were 99 more dangerous bridges they were working on first.

Texas A&M is to Civil Engineering as Al Gore is to climate change.
