No need to waste money on this. New law....."those who miss 20 days of school not due to illness or family emergency, will recieve 30 seconds from a stun gun and then not allowed to return to any public school in the US."
The kids who miss are the one bringing the TAKS scores down. Let 'em start digging ditches now...we don't need them.
Don't even get me started on our public schools! We let High School students be exempt from all semester exams if they have good attendance. Why, because it keeps the ADA (average daily attendance) up. That means more $$$$. We don't care anything about preparing these kids for college, we care about football and money! In that order!
FAUX News knows what is important. Later, FAUX will prove that this is Clinton's fault, and Dubya Bush tried his best to fix it. Just like Dubya Bush tried to fix all of Clinton's bad policies that has led us down to an economic global meltdown. If only Dubby could have had fomoyears, this would not be happening now, and all America would be safe and have buttloads of money. Especially the poor. Dubya always made things swing to help the homeless (Bill Clinton caused the homeless crisis). Dubby wanted to help poor wage earners make money like a Republican, but those spending, selfish, tax-more, Democrats made it impossible. We hate those liberal democraps.
The children don't need the monitor at the cost of the tax payer. The children need the flat side of the board of education. Cost, 5 bucks and will spank alot of kids before having to be replaced. I didn't have a problem going to school for the fear of getting my smart a** spanked and then getiing it when I went home. I didn't have to see a judge!
What would this nutty JP do if DISD really had a problem with kids skipping school? Someone who would not use extreme measures and has some common sense should run for JP in Precinct 2 in 2010! The pay has been increased and a lot of people will be looking for a job!
What in the world is going on here?! Parents can't keep track of their kids so they Lo-Jack them in the name of education. Who cares if my kid doesn't go to school, it is his/her responsibility and the parents' (not the school systems'). People just want to be totally controlled don't they? They don't want to take responsibility at all anymore.
People are retarded. I truly believe that people think individual freedom is what is given out by the government.
I t hink the idea is a good idea, HOWEVER we need to look into placing the parents on the monitor. I also think Johnson is trying to do too much. She is trying to take over Teen Court and being a member of the board, I do not think it is right. She is tryig to run over Dollie and the rest of us. She needs to settle down a little
We are talking about 2 out of 75 kids (per the clip)! You people get over it!!!! At least someone is wanting to give those 2 some attention! Which is probably exactly what they don't want.
Right on track 9:19!! At least she is taking a proactive approach, "an ounce of prevention" applies here! I'm glad that office is actually doing something for a change instead of just going with the flow as her predecessor did! Keep up the great work!
I am not sure why people are in an uproar...I just paid my traffic ticket there and they were all nice. I DO NOT AGREE with tracking juveniles..>THAT IS STUPID Track the parents
Dear 11:08, I'm not sure about 11:00, but at 6'3" tall, a bigger middle age spread than I will ever admit outside the confidential confines of this blog, and since I just returned from using the stand up urinal (with the very nice pink scent stone in the bottom).... I don't think I could pass as, or ever be mistaken for her. I even checked with Mrs. Me and she confirmed I wasn't the judge.
Well, I'm not miss judgy poo, and I believe it's time we take care of those who choose not to go to school. It's the law anyway. Obviously some of you out there don't know that it becomes truancy when students habitually skip school.
It's not the first time the law has stepped in; several times over the past many years, police officers have been called in to go home and get a student who is skipping school, and bring them in. It seems to work; it gets them there.

Yeah 8:44, that'll solve all our problems - NOT!
Whoa...
Barry, we see that Lori Barager came out to Wise County to visit. Did you treat her to Rib Eyes at Sweetie Pies?????
I guess the beach comment probably doesn't pass muster, eh BG? But you gotta admit it was damn funny, as well as relevant

Terry Johnson is an absolute doofus!

AAAAHHHHH!!!!!! My brain hurts!
10:45 - Any money the school district saves may be your own (tax revenues).

Could it be? 9:19 and 11:00 are Miss Judgy Poo herself?

Just another stunt by "Judge" Johnson to get re-elected. I think we need Swaim back or heck maybe another West of the Sandy person
