I heard a speaker say that shallow cultures (and individuals) are interested in the nouns of a sentence, and thinking cultures (and individuals) are more interested in the verbs of a sentence. You can really see that nowadays in our culture--all the "celebrities" who are "celebrities" because they're "celebrities"! If you ask someone what they've DONE to make them a celebrity, they'll have no answer! Case in point--Paris Hilton. She's a "celebrity" because--she's a "celebrity". How crazy and meaningless we've become.
