That "A" is the location of Imagination Station daycare. Somewhere else on the map is the location of a Hooter's restaurant. (It's somewhere along I-35 on the mall side, but that's all I know.)
So what do the two have in common? A wandering five year old.

I'm so confused..... "A 5-year-old boy slipped out of the Imagination Station...Employees of Hooters found the child safe about 5:20 p.m. He left the child care center in the 2300 block of San Jacinto Boulevard, crossed the Interstate 35E northbound service road and Dallas Drive, bought a soft drink at a service station and walked to Hooters."
The child bought a soft drink or the Hooter's chick did?
Thats where I'd go, too...good choice little fella!
Someone has trained that boy
get a drink and go to Hooters
Yep, at 5 years old, he may have had recent memories, and thought it was a Golden Corral Buffet.
new meaning to the phrase
toys for tots..
I'm also confused. If he had the sense to a:plan his escape using the ole"bathroom break Boss"routine,b:know what time happy hour starts at Hooters,c:know they wouldn't sell him a cold one on such a hot day at Hooters,d:know his dad would fully understand...I could go on and on,What tha hell is he doin in day care?
I know a lot of adults that couldn't pull that off.
this kid would have crossed in order: parking lot, 2 lane service road, 4 lane seperated road with cars going 50 mph plus (which is an exit off I-35E N), parking lot, stop at store, another parking lot, pass a hotel (sleezy)or apartment complex (depending on route), go along the 2 lane service road again, then to heaven. I thought my 3 yr old giving directions to Wal-Mart was good, this kid needs to be sponsored by MapQuest.
I woulda told the cops to just leave him and to tell him I'd meet him there in a minute for some wings and beer.
Isn't there someone along that route that found it strange that a 5 yr. old was out roaming around the neighborhood alone?
Everyone probably assumed he was a dwarf or midget, 2:43PM.
did he use his dad's credit card
i already did that
double fake raplh hardy
And, Jarhead, I assume you would be carrying, with the "safe" off too, huh?
I can understand the kid slipping out and wandering around for 20 minutes before someone found him and called the police. For me the big question is, WHO on this blog, as a 5 year old, regularly carried enough money to purchase a soft drink at service station?
Damn right. Always do.
The future of our country is in good hands!
I really don't see that there could be any possible way that he walked there on his own. It's quite a ways away, having to cross zooming traffic. And no, I don't think it's on the map you posted Barry...it's a bit further North on I-35E. I wonder if someone picked him up and dropped him there. Or maybe he was having flashbacks of breast feeding that led him to Hooters. I don't know...but I certainly don't think it's possible that he walked there. I can barely cross that one intersection in a car without getting ran over.
