Sheesh

Like I said, I've been looking at some old posts to prepare for the first leg of my Dying On Stage Tour. And then I came across this one from March of last year.

Maybe you can join the Dave Barry, Stephen, King, Amy Tan, and about ten other authors, rock band-The Rock Bottom Remainders. Their last tour was "Still Younger than Keith." One before that was "Don't Quit Your Day Job."

Are you gonna have t-shirts made?

You better go take a pic of a sign that says $3.89. You might need it for next year if your cronies don't let us drill/build refineries.

If the band is made up of slip and fall lawyuhs and they all die on stage I am so there, no matter what the tickets cost.

3:10 It was 3.75 this morning, down from 3.99 last week. That's just with W lifting the executive branch drilling ban. Wonder how much it would drop if congress would just ANNOUNCE a vote on drilling offshore...

3:20 We have the ability to be self-sufficient...it's just a matter of pride.

Stupidity is the main reason fuel has become so expensive. If high prices cure stupidity, then let it roll to 5 or more dollars per gallon. Maybe then we will finally learn the lesson which was so plainly presented in '73.

So, when you have your presentation firmed up, why not write a KNOL?

Prices will probably rise again since word is out about the fuel spill in Barry's garage.

We will become independent of fossil fuels shortly after the big boys determine they can make as much with wind, solar, nukes. TBoone is just ahead of the pack.

Drilling is a red-herring. Wise Co is a good example. There are countless acres being held by one well, when the landscape could literally look like a forest of pumpjacks. If they wanted.

We have yet to have a courageous leader who will admit it will take wind, solar, nukes, and more drilling but most important of all Americans start being responsible, giving up SUV that can carry 7 but usually one, McMansions for couples, lawns as pampered as the family pet.

We have had some really good years where our every indulgence could be met. Indians and Chinese are now wanting a share, so our indulgences are going to become very expensive.

Wish it were as simple as "just drilling" but only simple people believe that.

1) Drilling will not affect squat as long as the rich boys on Wall street are allowed to artificially manipulate the price of oil regardless of it's origin (see ENRON). The folks on here who advocate more oil production obviously work in the business and have a buck to make;

2) T-Bone is in it for the Federal subsidy bucks that have ALWAYS come from any new technilogical or societal benificial venture (see TIF grants). He is in it to make a buck @ the expense of the public. He is a lepard and lepards do not change their spots;

3) We are a throw-away society. We waste beyond human comprehension. we know our ground water supplies are SEVERLY diminished, yet there is a guy on Old Decatur Road who installed a irrigation system so he could WATER THE DITCH and keep it green all year. We allowed Detroit to convince us to DESTROY one of the best mass transit rail systems IN THE WORLD, and now our STUPID GOVERNOR wants to let MEXICAN construction companies have sweetheart deals to build more ROADS!

4) Until we decide to quit electing PARTY MEMBERS and start electing PUBLIC SERVANTS and STATESMEN, NOTHING WILL CHANGE, AND WE DESERVE EVERYTHING THAT WE GET!!!

They kept raising prices, and we kept buying more. They kept raising prices, and we kept buying more. Now, finally, we the people are buying less and guess what? The problem, people, is us. We do not HAVE to buy all the gas we do. We have made lifestyle choices that cause us to need ridiculous amounts of gasoline. Who among us would not sell their product or service for four times its current price if you knew you would not lose any customers?
