We have Screaming Bridge somewhere between Boyd and Decatur, just off 730. Apparently some girl drove off the bridge into Deep Creek and suppossedly, if you park on the bridge, turn off your engine and roll down the windows, you can still hear her scream. It used to be an old wooden bridge -- now it is just a concrete bridge with lots of graffiti on it.
A male ghost is seen standing on the side of Highway 287 headed toward Rhome on Sunday mornings between 4:00 and 5:00 AM. Several truckers report seeing him in front of them, but when they check their side-view mirrors, he is gone.
I usually see ghost twice a day after I take my meds. My doctors smart cause he told me this would happen. He even told me I could be friends with them but just don't try to walk through walls or in front of cars like they do cause if I did I would have to be on more meds. You know, I miss the Woodstock days and Casper. I think I'll go back to bed now.
Have yourself locked in the courthouse some night, alone. Long about 2 a.m., when the elevator starts going up and down all by itself, you'll have your answer.
A very credible friend of mine once was parked at the Deep Creek cemetary (south of Decatur off Highway 287 on the right) when he swears to this day that he saw "a lady in a pink shroud"! I used to think he was just pulling our legs (we were high school age at the time), but he has still refused to recant his story. Makes you wonder. [Sorry for the English lesson, Barry, but notice I wrote "off Highway 287", not "off of Highway 287". The word "of" after "off" is grammatically incorrect. I must be "channeling" my English teacher mother, even though she's still alive!]
POSSIBLE BARRY SIGHTING ----- I was slumming up in Decatur around lunchtime and I think I saw the legendary Barron Green himself turning onto Trinity off of Hale toward the square in his white SUV. He was either rubbing his eye or picking his nose. He was driving way to fast for me to tell. Well above the posted limit I can tell you.
The old Slidell gym has a ghost. Can't remember who it's supposed to be. People tell stories about hearing basketballs dribble when no one is around, or balls falling off the rack when no one is close to it.
Outside of Springtown in a cemetary there is a glowing tombstone. Indian Cemetary that is pretty spooky. Outside of Jacksboro there is an old abandon white house that looks like the one off Blaire Witch.
3:45, You are correct. Screaming Bridge is between Decatur and Paradise, but is not the bridge on 3259. It is on the other dirt road in the "boonies" somewhere. It was an old creaky bridge of yesteryear that has been removed and replaced by a modern concrete structure. Yes, there is graffiti on it because people still go there to try and "raise" the screams of the woman who was hanged there many many years ago. However, when they removed that old bridge, the spirit of that woman must have gone with it. No more sightings have happened there since it was "modernized."
I live in an old old house where several people have died many years ago, before I came here. In the old days lots of country folks used to die at home. I have ghosts. Their presence is unbelievable and hard to explain..but lots of times I hear them milling around in this old house. I believe they like rock and roll and free porn!!!
There is supposed to be a person who either committed suicide or was pushed out of the the tower of th courthouse before they put up barriers in the windows. It used to be where you could step through them and walk on the balcony. It's a small one but still a balcony. This was supposed to have happened many years ago.
Screaming bridge is on county road 3250 between Decatur and Paradise also known as Golas Crossing. My brother moved to rhome about 6 years ago shortly after he wag going to Ft Worth earliy one sunday morning he told me about seeing an older man walking south on 287 waring a dark colored suite and grey gloves he said it gave him the chills he seen the same man a few weeks later and has never seen him again could be the ghost of 287
My old stomping ground was around keller and roanoke we had an old bridge between roanoke and I-35 called crazy mans, the story was a many hacked his wife up into pieces and threw them over the bridge
I grew up in Denton. I always thought the Goatman Bridge was the one way out south Bonnie Brae Street - several miles from Old Alton Bridge. I've never heard OAB associated with the Goatman Legend until seeing that clip. The KKK aspect of the story wasn't in the the story I heard either. Maybe these ghost-hunter mo-moes are barking up the wrong bridge.

Decatur has screaming bridge.. not sure of what the whole story behind it is...
Me and the band had our pictures taken there for an album cover and now they're all gone, except me...
In as world where things seem to be headed downstream fast (ie: Hussein running for president).....it's nice to hear a feel-good story like this one.

...two ships passing at the lunch hour... *sniff*
I think I saw Spiller lurking beneath Goatman's Bridge.
Wait. Maybe it was State instead of Trinity. I was honestly too drunk to remember.
