7.23.2008

Rep. Phil King

Spent this much moola during the first six months of 2008 to be your State Representative according to his July "Semi Annual Report". Mercy.

The entire PDF report is here. (Quite frankly, I really don't understand the time period because he had to file several reports before the primary election that cover the same time span. )

But get this: It says he spent on $911.20 on the Wise County Messenger during that time frame. That can't be right. I think the number may be closer to a half billion dollars.

(All his filing are listed here. You guys feel free to root around in them.)

Sheesh, that's only $3900/day.

Maybe he's buying a Yugo for everyone in the WC.

Oh, this post reminds me... I heard a song over the weekend that reminded me of the liberal mindset. Here goes:

"I'm only happy when it rains
I'm only happy when it's complicated
And though I know you can't appreciate it
I'm only happy when it rains

You know I love it when the news is bad
And why it feels so good to feel so sad
I'm only happy when it rains

Pour your misery down, pour your misery down on me
Pour your misery down, pour your misery down on me

I'm only happy when it rains
I feel good when things are going wrong
I only listen to the sad, sad songs
I'm only happy when it rains

I only smile in the dark
My only comfort is the night gone black
I didn't accidentally tell you that
I'm only happy when it rains

You'll get the message by the time I'm through
When I complain about me and you
I'm only happy when it rains

Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down on me (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down on me (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down on me (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down

You can keep me company
As long as you don't care

I'm only happy when it rains
You wanna hear about my new obsession?
I'm riding high upon a deep depression
I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me)

I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me)
I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me)
I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me)
I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me).

What a waist of money!

What figure would have needed to be printed to keep you from deeming this blogworthy?

Let's see....alot of his contributors are utilities or their subsidiaries or contractors, and Phil is on the Public Utilities Commission and his job pays less than $10,000.00 per year. Looks like the fox is guarding the henhouse. He has never been our representative, he's the representative of big utility companies. He's worthless.

You would think that with all that money he could afford 400 dollar haircuts like Sen. John Edwards(who by the way just got busted with his mistress in LA while his cancer stricken wife was at home in the mansion). Now I know what he was talking about when he would lecture us about two Americas. The family one on the east coast and the ho on the west coast.

Seven hundred thousand spent for a job that "yields" a whopping $600 a month. What a dedicated public servant.

700K for an elected position that has a term of only two years!! Omigosh! Is there something out there that is making it "worth it" to him? Of course, it's not his money, anyway.

Hey, Phil King is wonderful - why else would Decatur's Mayor have his name on a full page ad to re-elect him?

Does Decatur have a special city deal with this do nothing state representative?

You libs are graet! You have no idea what the gambeling, pro-death abortionists and teachers unions spend aginst King. Of course he would spend a ton to defeat groups like that!

It is just amazing those who can turn a conversation about Phil King (and electricity) into social issues.

Sheesh.

Teacher unions are not allowed by state law......that's fact.

It just proves it is so good to be a Texan. We know what he is. We know he is for sale. Yet we relect him so he can keep doing it.

Might just prove how ineffective our teachers and preachers are in intilling values.........You can figure why King does it........But why do we do it?

Is not possible to elect an honest representative?

6:59 - last question - NO, because we can't FIND honest folks anymore. Just shut our eyes and vote for the best of the worse.

Sad.

King has a great gig going with "Legislative Continuances". It works like this: He takes money from a party involved in a court trial. He then claims to be a part of the legal team, and therefore the judge has to postpone the trial while the legislature is in session. When the case finally gets to trial, King isn't anywhere to be found. It is abuse of office and subverts justice, but lucrative for Saint Phil.
