Left Over "Spin" Material

The Messenger had a story last week on one the hybrid vehicles that staff members ran around in for a week or so. This paragraph jumped out at me. Not sure if people buying them are that concerned with the cost of gasoline.

GM already has trouble building a reliable gas car or pickup. How in the world would anyone trust them to do something right, like hybridization, the first rattle out of the box?

SUV hybrids are retarded. Especially GM's idea that its hybrids cannot run electric-only. Just further proof that GM doesn't have a clue, and hasn't for the last 30 years.

I cannot believe how spoiled we've become. Thinking that someone needs a Suburban or Tahoe, or that 20MPG is good. Especially when that vehicle is only carrying one person most of the time.

That article was a pure fluff piece for GM and the dealership.

I have a 2007 Denali and I wish I had a choice of a hybrid when I bought mine. Yes I can afford the gas but I like to save where I can. And yes I could save a lot by buying a used Chevy but I like to drive a nice car and the Denali is very nice. I do have my limits as I'm not sure I would fork out the 100,000 for a Lexus hybrid.

**ATTENTION**

I am suprised you have had NO mention of the accident infront of Devon last week. What I want to know is the name of the driver that caused the accident and why do they not want to release it?

Obviously a guy with some pull since thay are not releasing his name and since you did not report BREAKING NEWS with 4 (FOUR!!) care flight he MUST be a friend of yours-HUH?

Probably wouldnt even care if it was just stated in the article, but the fact they say they are withholding it makes me WONDER??
But they did make it clear that alcohol was NOT a factor....OK (me giving a puzzled look and wondering why that was even thrown in the article).

Over $50,000 for a big SUV. These vehicles are excessively large and under-utilized by 95% of the owners. Gas price just can't be a big factor to these buyers. One day our government will have to limit the size of cars and trucks as our citizens seem to be unable to limit themselves.

Most of us don't want, or need, our Gov't to limit anything else. We feel they already have their nose and hands into too much of what private citizens do. Some of us even think that small car drivers are the greatest danger on the highway now, and drive SUVs for our own protection from them.

Wow, Roy Eaton writes a faux news article to push slow moving inventory for James Wood.

I'm flabbergasted!

I drive a 10 year old, paid off SUV with over 180,000 miles on it. It's big, and I feel safe in it with my baby girl. BUT When the time comes (soon, I hope) to trade it in, I'm definitely going w/ a mid-sized sedan...30mpg at least and a high safety rating...the environment and my checkbook will thank me:)

OK - it was a column in the Mess. A column is one person's opinion. A story or article would contain both sides of the story and NOT include the writer's opinion.

I guess you all could write a letter to the editor about your favorite car of choice, and include what you want to.

Anon 2:34 - you're not the only one who thinks something is awkward about this.

Are police records dealing with adults public record? I think they are. Go find out who it was and let us know.

Mass ! = safety. You're an idiot thinking that SUVs are safer. Full-framed vehicles transfer the energy of a collision to the occupants of the vehicle rather than dissipating it through the vehicle's structure. But have fun thinking that you're safer as that collision in your SUV turns your organs into Jell-O.
