Nope, I Haven't

Somebody just asked me if I had heard of a Wise County church charging money to attend Vacation Bible School.

Yea your right! Parents go to every church in town and drop off their kids! For the day or night!
Think about it!

Back in the day, ours was done by full-time "volunteer" teenage labor. I should know, I was part of it for several years. The parents brought some supplies, the church paid for the rest, it was free to kids.

So what if you think it's just free babysitting. It may be to the parents, but the children have fun and learn about God. The church should fund VBS, not charge.

get off of it...
if you don't want to pay for VBS.. dont' send your kids there? It's the churches decision.. but i will guess, they will probably have one of the best programs in WC.. And i don't even know what church it is.

VBS is a church MINISTRY. I couldn't imagine my church charging kids to come to VBS.

I can see the look on the poor kiddies faces when they start passing around the collection plate....looks like tithing may be the theme of this years VBS.

I can still remember when I was a child, my parent's said I could not play baseball one year because it was too expensive. I also remember wearing shoes that had holes in them to school, but somehow every sunday dad put on his new suit, marched us down to the local FBC, and always put $100 in the collection plate. Till this day I always make it a point to buy myself a nice pair of shoes every couple weeks; helps me remember where I came from. More importantly it shaped me into who I am today, and taught me the hypocrisy of religion at an early age.

It was in the newspaper and I believe the church was Grace Fellowship.
