notice they dont have these massive rallies(sp) on the weekend. the saturday rally from a few weeks ago was minor in comparison. they just want a day off from work. fire them all. if i didnt show up because i didnt want to they would can me.
anon 7:48 - do you, by chance, also have a white robe and hood hanging in your closet?
GIVE ME A BREAK 7:58.. NOTHING THEY SAID EVEN SUGGESTED THAT. YOUR OUT IN YOUR OWN WORLD. FACT IS THEY ARE ONLY HURTING THEMSELVES. SHINING LIGHT ON THE PROBLEM ITSELF.
The only thing I've heard so far this morning on the radio is that the traffic in the metroplex is lighter and smoother.
You mean they all went home for the day.I think this is a two way street. You want to boycott the country you live in then leave, and since you will not do that then I boycott you, no welfare, education, medical, oh, and no mexican food.
7:48 & especially 8:25--RIGHT ON TARGET! I'm going to get sooooo skinny with my reverse-boycott. If you don't want what we offer LEGALLY, then go the hell home. And by that I mean, the country you came from...This whole issue is like having someone drop in unannounced for dinner. You serve up, they gripe about it not being enough and threaten to "not be your friend" anymore...um, who asked ya here to begin with???I'm boycotting a good mood today too...
love the analogy "comment4u"
This should have been titled" It's A Day Without ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS"!!!They are called illegal for a reason. They did not follow the law to be here. Either follow the proper procedure and become legal, shut up, or go home!! Their home, it's called Mexico. If they don't like the laws here, there is a simple solution. Turn around and go the opposite direction. We certainly don't force anyone to be here. If I just didn't show up for work, guess what? I get written up. Why should they get special priviledges? Just cause they are illegal....I don't think so. My family business employees both legal and illegal immigrants. The "un-americanized" immigrants DO tend to work harder and complain a whole lot less than others. We getter a better quality of work when employing them. I don't feel like we treat anyone differently....everyone is equal. But when they suggested that they weren't working today, they were willing to listen to the other side. I am proud of all of them for respecting their employment and showing enough regard for us to show up today and do the work they are hired to do. For that respect, we all get to work today and tomorrow!! God bless America!!
The following link is pretty important for Americans to see: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1604915/posts"Remember the Alamo!"
I think we should take advantage of this situation ...Lets get like 1000 Buses and a Big Sign that says : "IMMIGRATION BOYCOTT RALLY BUS"and when they get on we ...."Lock" them down and drive them to Mexico and dump them off .....Just an Idea ....
Where is that bus loading locally? Great idea!! OH BUT DRAT!! I HAVE TO WORK TODAY!! I HAVE TO MAKE A LIVING FOR MY FAMILY!!
I have such "apathy head" from all of this!!! This will always be a battle and the "day without illegals" will not change it, so let us get on with our lives and get me a burrito, beatch!!!
Why don't we form a march to protest Mexico's economy - after all many of these workers send the money they make in America back there, while enjoying the perks of this country.Makes a lot of sense to march and miss work doesn't it?
VOTE FOR PEDRO!
Noticed "Dos Chiles" in Bridgeport is closed today. Are they protesting or normally closed on Mondays?
At TCU all the places that serve remotely healthy foods on campus had to close today because of all this.... not cool
Did anyone notice that Mexico's government recently legalized drugs (all of them). Just waiting on the Prez to sign it. They hope it will improve tourism. Sounds like Barry better start loading the U-Haul and head south.BUILD A WALL!!!
Casa Torres is open today!
Dos Chilies is not usually closed on Mondays. I can't belive all of this.....
Well, Dos Chilies has lost my families business. Hope they enjoyed the success while it lasted. I will make sure everyone I know hears about the boycott from Dos Chilies!! Please pass it on!
What a big blunder on the part of INS,they should have been there with as many trucks as they could round up.
what would have been funny is if INS would have rounded them all up while they were "not working"Dos Chiles has lost my bus. as well. If They want rights and want to wave their flag why do they not just GO HOME! I have never understood why they wave the Mexican Flag yet fight so hard to keep from going back.
These comments are hilarious. Not liking the taste of your own medicine are you America? Your forefathers came here and took American from the Indians forcefully. These people are doing it peacefully. And 7:58 had it right. All these comments were the same old tired excuses used back in the civil rights era. Why won't those uppity black folk, oops, I mean brown folk learn their place in society?
no, 4:58, our forefathers took America while taking care of themselves. Built the infrastructure, healthcare, etc. and took care of themselves. They came here to stay, and kept their money here. The illegals are taking free healthcare and all the other things we give them free, while sending alot of their money back to Mexico. If they want to remain illegal immigrants and take the country for themselves, let them provide their own social services, etc, not rely on us to give it to them. They don't even pay taxes here. They should become legal immigrants and provide for themselves just like all Americans should.
I did my part today ...I had lunch at a Mexican Restaurant and to night ...I am going to eat American Food ..See y'all at TATER JUNCTION ...
Tater Junction...... ewwwwwwwEat some real food. Support your local AMERICAN food restaurants...
5:06, they don't pay taxes? How do they get around paying sales tax and gasoline taxes? And yes those forefathers took care of themselves, and gave those dirty heathens infected blankets.
4:58 pm What nonsense! That's a stupid comparison. The indians did not have laws against immigration. They did not have borders. It's unfortunate what happened to them, but you are using an irrelevant comparison. We are a nation with immigration laws and borders. ILLEGAL immigrants have broken those laws by crossing our borders and coming into our country. They want to make it a racial issue. It is not a racial issue. It's being in our country either LEGALLY or ILLEGALLY. That's what it boils down to. Illegals don't have the right to be here, let alone the right to protest our government wanting to have stricter immigration laws.
Just curious....as I work at a hospital.....will any of them boycott indigent hospital care? And on another note many of my legalized Hispanic friends are livid about all this!
We're going to [put] more of these little Negro bastards on the welfare rolls at $2,400 a family--let people like Pat Moynihan and [special consultant] Leonard Garment and others believe in all that crap. But I don't believe in it. Work, work--throw 'em off the rolls. That's the key. I have the greatest affection for them [blacks], but I know they're not going to make it for 500 years. They aren't. You know it, too. The Mexicans are a different cup of tea. They have a heritage. At the present time they steal, they're dishonest, but they do have some concept of family life. They don't live like a bunch of dogs, which the Negroes do live like.
Wonder if immigrants also did what they should to show the other side of the equation. Costs. Did they take their kids out of school to show the relief on overcrowding if they were not here? Did they avoid welfare and social support? What a joke that immigrants decide NOT to use their food stamps today. Did they stay off the highways therefore reducing the need for streets and roads? Did they, for one day, not have their old clunkers breaking down on Metroplex highways so that ten thousand others did not waste thirty minutes in traffic waiting to pass by the clunker that hasn't seen an oil change EVER? Did they stay away from taxpayer funded medical care today? Did they stop sending money they earn back to Mexico? Etc....it takes both sides of an equation to get an answer.
Ahem!If "hard working honest" U.S. citizens did not hire and pay illegal foreign nationals there would be NO reason for them to sneak into the States! An employer is NOT allowed to ask someone seeking employment if they are "legal". When an employer pays federal payroll taxes and the Social Security Admin. sends a notice that a particular SS# does not match the name provided the employer CANNOT fire the employee with the "suspect" SS#. The employer can ONLY inform the employee the SS Admin. has indicated there is a problem with the information. This can and does go on for YEARS! The ONLY action/protection the employer can take is to have the employee sign a document indicating the employee has been informed of the difficulty with "their" SS#.Clearly, the US needs a guest worker program that WORKS! The US also needs laws that allow the employer to make certain they are hiring documented/legal workers.By the way it is my understanding Dos Chiles HAD to close because only the owner and cook showed up for work today!
"negro bastards" are you kidding...this type of social ignorance must be born in ignorance. I guess you are from where? Chico or Alvord? Do you not know what our country was built on? Do you have any idea of civil rights in the 60's and 70's? Your ignorance embarasses me. I am proud to be an American. My son serves for our country's "freedom". Yes, I applaud the hispanics in our country for coming here and working as hard or harder in trades that we "American's" take for granted - at way less the pay. You can all trash my statements - but my hispanic friends work way harder than most of my "caucasion" friends ever thought of. I don't think that most of you "witnessed" the 60's - and saw "people of color" being treated worse than dogs on the street. I will stand up for my country, I will stand up for my son in the military, and I will stand up for the people of America that have come here to have a better life. Yes, I do know that many of done it illegially. And I also know of some, at a very young age, crossed the river to have a better life. And, knowing these people, I am very proud to call them my friends. Liberal, Democrat, American, Methodist, I am proud to say that I am all of the above.
6:51I too found that statement made by Richard Nixon just a bit OUTRAGEOUS! I completely understand why conversations within the Oval Office are no longer taped. There's no telling what would end up on tape these days.
And people wonder why Wise County put a confederate flag in the courthouse. Geez, just read some of these posts. I learn about these ignorant prejudice people in college and then come home to Wise County where they are all at. I can't wait to get out of here. Everyone wants a good quality of life. What is wrong with that?
There is some really sick and scary people living in this county. It just gives me the creeps!
10:00PM, if you were so active during the '60s and '70s you'd realize that what I posted was a Nixon quote. Social ignorance indeed.
"where they are ALL AT"did they teach english at this college.Where were the police when all these criminals were marching and raising hell, if they are here illegally they are breaking the law, if you are breaking the law you are a criminal. Never heard one word about this on the TV news. BUILD THE WALL bring our army home from Iraq we need them on the border NOW!
i too am jumping on the boycott dos chilis band wagon. what a disrespect to all there customers. my family or i will never step foot in one of there restaurants again. i will make sure that all of my friends and family here of there decision to choose illegal immigrant rights over american rights.
