Random Thursday Morning Thoughts

  • Two people killed in wrong way wreck in Grand Prairie last night.
  • Motorcycle death this morning near White Rock Lake (when the rider decided to bypass slowed cars and struck an obstacle for which the cars were slowing down for in the first place.)
  • If we would have had someone hit a parked police car, we'd have the Trifecta.
  • I dreamed I was smuggling three duffle bags full of rifles back from Mexico by checking the bags with an airline and then trying to walk them through customs.
  • Review of Van Halen concert last night by the Dallas Morning News.
  • Mrs. LL is watching the first season of Lost after staring at the "pilot" screen and asking, "Do I really want to start this?" I'm wondering how long she'll stick with it. (But that first season was great.)
  • This "Fast and Furious" thing would seem more significant if every vote wasn't straight down party lines. (And I had no idea the program began under the Bush Administration when it was called "Wide Receiver.")
  • Man, a Sandusky "not guilty" verdict would be a shocker, but I don't see it happening. Penn State will be so happy for all this to just go away.
  • If the thought of a Pulp Fiction remix song piques your interest, you'll love this
  • I wonder what the guy is thinking who won the signed Lebron James jersey during the Liberally Lean Pick 'Em Tourney.  It's value is going up.
  • Just hitting the news wires: A fatal auto/pedestrian hit and run right off of 287 on Willow Springs (about  five miles after leaving Wise County).
  • Update is here. (It leads with the Pete Hart news that was in yesterday's Random Thoughts.)

Alex Van Halen - best rock drummer of all time.

Some people must think that they are Superman when they get on a bike. Was driving down 183 through the construction the other day. It is already pretty narrow due to the construction, but it did not stop some idiot on a motorcycle from driving in between cars stuck in rush-hour traffic.

"I had no idea the program began under the Bush Administration when it was called "Wide Receiver."

Wide Receiver began and ended under the Bush administration. Wide Receiver was a smaller scale gun walking operation that resulted in arrests.

Fast & Furious was a large scale clusterf*ck resulting in the death of a brave American.

Fast & Furious is all Obama, baby.

The incompetent Obama administration proved once again that running the Executive Branch is beyond their pay-scale.

Here's a video of the beginning of the gun running operation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PNhYk9NuNc&feature=player_embedded

Yes I agree this is all Obama if its not then fork over the documents Mr. President and Mr. Holder you should have nothing to hide you can blame Bush like you have on everything else. I can not believe there are still people who will vote for this President they must be living in a hole.

Don't waste your time 9:07. After fully seeing the response of the left on this whole debacle they only hear what they want to hear and refuse to accept the truth.

It would not be a shocker at all if Sandusky (s) receives a not-guilty verdict. That whole thing smells fishy and seems to be blown way out of proportion. Can you say WITCH HUNT?

I also thought about your post on the man who killed that man who was in the process of molesting his daughter. I guess you would have walked up on the incident and waited for the half naked man who was on top of your daughter to penetrate her before you stepped in.

Wide reciever was conducted with full cooperation with mexican authorities and guns were tracked after walking.

Fast and furious conducted with no gun tracking once the guns were walked and Mexican authorities were never notified.
Big Differance.

Your on a roll with those randy girl pics. This one has a backside that reminds of Lana Sands, but with much larger upper bits.

Fast and Furious was about regulating gun dealers in the USA out of business, something they could NOT do legislatively. Stupid is as stupid did..

Motorcycle death this morning near White Rock Lake (when the rider decided to bypass slowed cars and struck an obstacle for which the cars were slowing down for in the first place.)

Sweet, been waiting for that to happen for some time. Always pisses my off when these motorcyclers think they can just weave in and out of slow traffic.

Hey 11:01----

Glad you can root for someone else's death. So now should I celebrate every time some idiot on a cell phone kills someone with his car?

Newt Gingrich had a good take on the Obama/Holder situation. He said that the members of the Cabinet are supposed to throw themselves between trouble and the President. With his use of EP, Obama has put himself between a Cabinet member and Congress. What would have been a Holder problem is now an Obama problem. The question even casually-interested voters will ask now is "What is Obama hiding?"

God that Motorcycle accident makes me laugh my ass off, when they try to pass in the emergency lane I open my door or try to pin them against the guard rail. Love it, thin the gene pool

Anonymous said...

11:35 No, celebrate when some idiot on a cell phone kills HIMSELF by running into something while on a cell phone. The motorcyclist did not kill someone else. Your logic is flawed.

I agree with 10:30. Neil Peart is simply the best rock drummer of all time. The only one that could even come close is Carter Beauford.

Well 12:11, tell you what, fool. Try to do me bodily harm because you don't like my actions (actions which don't even affect you, BTW) and I will consider it an unprovoked assault and take appropriate defensive measures. Then maybe your widow can explain the gene pool to your unfortunate progeny

I ride, and I carry.

Do you really want to assault me with your vehicle?

Think real hard about your actions. There will be consequences

Van Halen? Forget them! Give me Bill Wyman and the Rolling Stones any day.

Why don't all you yahoos, talking about hitting motorcyclist with vehicles, and I ride, and I carry, and I'll shoot you blah blah blah, just meet up at the town square, lay your Johnsons out on the table, and lets just measure 'em up.

P.S. Those of you that do ride, why do some motorcyclists persist on breaking the law when they ride, particularly traffic laws? I have no desire to run them off the road or hinder them, just because the motorcyclist is a jackass doesn't mean I have to be.

Anonymous said...

2:45, I layed my Johson on the table but some jewish folks are suing me because it wasn't kosher.

Anonymous said...

Well said 2:45------

I actually ride a Suzuki, but my boat motor is a Johnson. Does that count?

And something tells me you probably don't obey all traffic laws either. Ever speed? Maybe not stop turning right on red?

Anonymous said...

4:28 I never denied breaking any traffic laws, but I wasn't asking about my lawlessness.

Let me rephrase: Why do some motorcyclists persist on breaking traffic laws that place themselves in extra danger, like driving down the stripe or on the shoulder during a traffic jam, etc., knowing that some jackass will likely try to turn into them?

5:32--

The answer to your question is in your question. They place THEMSELVES in danger. Because some people smoke, some over-eat, some climb mountains, jump out of airplanes....and on and on. People just do a lot of random shiate that others don't understand. It's the nature of individualism.

Either way, it seems even stupider for some to threaten their well-being because they don't understand or approve of their actions. And I know you said that's not your style. Good on you.

Congrats to Alvord for getting Coach Hart. Too bad they could not keep Billy Garza, then the program might have a chance to turn around...

It still has a chance to turn around, its just going to take time.
