So Bridgeport ISD has enough money to buy laptops for every student in high school and ipads for every other student in the district. It'll be interesting to see if they force their teachers to take a paycut for the second year in a row.
Thank you Barry. It's nice to have this blog. You know, something to depend on, unlike the WC Messenger.
The money from grants go to laptops and I Pad's.Hope you are a teacher to be that clueless.
Clueless 12.33The Update says money comes from fund balance.......taxes!!!!They didn't have a choice, they had to keep up with Decatur even if it was a stupid move.
Do you really think a school would fire teachers to get technology?? Were you educated in Slidell?
The Messenger worships the devil
3:21, not sure what rock you've been living under, but firing teachers to get more technology, athletic buildings, football fields, artificial turf, etc... happens all the time.Don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, because I AM one of several teachers "non-renewed" in the metroplex, but athletics never suffered the loss of a coach, and new computer labs came in the very next year. Lord have mercy! Don't be naive!
Don't know about them computer things but football turf and coaches is what America is all about. That is why we are twenty fifth in the world in math and sience. The third world countries furnish the equipment and we furnish the meat.
If you don't realize that teachers have already been fired...I'm sorry, "let go" and programs eliminated, then you are out of touch. And no, moron, it won't be grant money that pays for the ipads. Eddie sings a nice song and dance about different money from different budgets paying for different things, but he sings a different song about moving money between budgets when he has to. BISD has money for exactly what it wants to have money for, and teachers are at the bottom of the list. Which is why teachers will probably take a paycut for the second consecutive year, but the kids will all have brand new ipads.
