A perfect example of the Peter Principle - and cowardliness on the part of TV executives.
Curry was just fine in her role as a "news anchor" on the Today show. She has a blah personality and isn't suited for the co-host gig, where viewers like (seemingly) perky hosts like Couric and Viera.
But TV executives are scared to death to go out on a limb and bring in new talent. It's much easier to simply promote the next person in line, even if it's not a "wow" choice.
Thus you have the bookish Ann Curry and her complete lack of warmth promoted to the co-host gig. If anyone should have been promoted from within, it should have been the much more likeable Natalie Morales. But that would have jumped her in line ahead of Curry.
So instead of making the right decision, they made a bad one to avoid ruffling feathers. Now they've really got to shake things up to fix the the original mistake anyway.
Michelle Beadle has "Alien Head." Give the Amphi Panther-ex, Savannah Guthrie, a shot. Natalie Morales wouldn't be horrible but she might want to mix in a sandwich every once in a while. Let's confuse viewers by hiring Natasha Curry away from HLN.
Curry was the only one who was actually genuine. The other liberal elite commentators on Today are about as genuine as three dollar bills! I want someone who truly cares about what I need to know, not what will get them better ratings or more airtime.

2 words. Michelle Beadle.
The Deborah Norville curse continues.
DF Jane Pauley
NBC should be replaced by a real network as well.
TV should be replaced by something worthwhile

I'm glad I'm not a Kabletown executive.
Yep, used to be a Today show watcher but when she came on board....GMA it is!
I like Savannah Guthrie. I think she would be a good choice.
With a capital "C"
She is still MILFy hot. Half Japanese thing like that really stirs my Wasabi.
I know that was lame, but she still gets the attention of my pringles can.
I like her, but she does seem to be better one on one.
Bring Back Couric!!
