We have been provided with a contact database that contains a large number of our residents' contact information?

WTH? I want to know who provided them with this info and, the documentation that states I personally gave permission to release that information.

11:39, just a guess, but that "contact database" is probably the electronic equivalent of a phone book.

11:39 you are correct

Now if they want to know what's going on in your world all they have to do is pull up your cell number and track all the way thru the day! Lil bit of invasion of privacy but they are getting by with it.

11:39 the database is from the 911 database it only contains land line phone numbers. It is important if you are interested in being part of the system to go sign up at the link above. The information you provide is for the emergency notifications system and will not be used otherwise.

I would like an alert to go out to everyone when they are about to kill innocent dogs at the animal shelter because they don't have the space for them...all because of idiot, cruel humans who abandon and abuse them! Maybe the good humans out there will save them..I know you are out there...come on let us all help rescue the dogs. And, report to our good sheriff if you know of dogs in bad situations..they need to be prosecuted.

If I'm not mistaken, the City of Decatur has had such a system for some time.

Don't we have enough people committing crimes against people that are backlogging the court system. Now you want to add crimes against dogs to that back log as well. For the most free nation on earth, we have the most people in jail for non violent crimes than any other country in the world. Even China. And you want more laws to be justified?

What is happening to the dogs is a crime...mostly of ignorant people who get a dog knowing full well they can't afford it. The shelter is taking in more and more owner surrendered dogs because of this. Some day the back yard breeders will be held accountable and stopped. Then it is going to cost big bucks to even adopt a dog..like adopting a child. Maybe they will be placed in better homes then. There always has to be new laws as problems arise. If you are law abiding, laws should not be of any concern to you.
