After having to play southlake when I was in high school and having my playoff dreams squashed each season by those roided up, cocky bastards.....I think this is hilarious.
If you went back and did the research you could probably find a couple of kids like this on each of there State Championship teams--this happened quite a bit in the late 80's early 90's.
Kind of reminds me of sage bit of wisdom from an old Texas DPS trooper friend. He was often questioned about the fairness of the other speeders on the highway escaping justice, but the scofflaw he just stopped being ticketed. His response was that he caught the offender in question, not the other speed demons. When he caught them, they would meet the same fate.
Absence of enforcement does not mean enforcement is absent.
The parents of a high school athlete bend a UIL rule and Belo stalks the father all the way to Oklahoma and back. Yeah, that's an appropriate response.
I was hoping the dad would feed Shipp his (Shipp's) teeth.

It's about time!! Why should Southlake be able to recruit when other schools can't! Glad they finally got their comeuppance. Sorry about the kid, but his parents should not have been so greedy!! Rules are for everyone in the UIL!
Remember, 4:42--it wasn't just the PARENTS bending the rules that made it so "news-worthy" (altho I have little respect for modern media/journalists), but it was SOUTHLAKE'S involvement that does. Hopefully nobody out there thinks for one second that this was ONLY the parents' fault? There was connivin' at the Southlake end, too.
No matter if it is the parents or the Souhlake AD that's guilty of wrong doing, the kid is the one that will suffer. I agree with Mr. Mike Honcho, this is a silly investigation for channel 8. You just ruined a kid's high school football career for something the adults did.
Brett Shipp is a POS ambulance chaser... does his "investigative reporting" ever benefit anyone but himself? WFAA has to turn off comments on any story he does as no one thinks he's worth a shit...

I'm not sure this hurts them all that much. They probably have 75+ guys suiting up on varsity. I bet 1 or 2 of them can play QB.
Feel bad for the kid but he needs to realize there are rules and you have to follow them.
Hope his parents pack what little stuff they had in Southlake and move back to OK.

Do ya think that the Carroll AD will be looking for a job soon?
He looked like a kid caught doing something he shouldn't be on TV the other night.
Let's see if Brett Shipp will be on the side lines, reporting live from the game.

And in other news... Brett Shipp is hot on the trail of a Kindergardner reported to be coloring outside the lines with his parent's approval.
D-bag.
So the fact that this kid was ruled ineligible in OK last year for jumping from one OK HS to another HS, send any red flags up?
Way to do Dad!

Southlake lost big in first game. #2 QB will have some heat till they start winning.

If Shipps doesn't get enough pleasure out of destroying this kid maybe he should go drown some kittens.
Why slam Shipp? It is the kid's parents who can't seem to enroll the kid in the appropriate school - and follow the rules of Oklahoma and/or Texas.
Maybe they could suite up Darrin Partridge and have Chase Chapman as a backup? They are a couple of American Badasses!
