Got a report about yet another wreck by the Sheriff's Office on 380. Hey, one of you guys in the building run out there and snap a pic and send it to me. Chop! Chop!
They can put a red light at Devon in Bridgeport but TxDot can't put one at a busy intersection like the one by the Sheriffs Dept. I believe there has been more wrecks at the Decatur intersection.
Devon did NOT pay for the stop light. That would be the equivalent of Mr. Jim Bob putting up his own stop light at the end of his driveway. Roads are the responsibility of the state, i.e. TXDOT. "Reliable sources" in Wise County crack me up.
i agree with 5:28 and 5:35. If people would pay attention when they drive, stop at the stop sign, and look both ways like their momma taught them, they wouldn't get run over....pretty simple, really, and no need to install a light and slow down the traffic going thru on 380. I guess it's called survival of the fittest, more alert, etc.
Just be patient, stop at the stop sign, look both ways make sure it is clear and then go. Remember drivers ed?? I am sure we can all drive right; especially when you have children in the car.
Also, I work for Devon Energy and they did not pay for the light. Rumors are everywhere; you shouldn’t believe everything you hear.
Just wait until TX-DOT puts up the red light at 1655 going to Alvord off of 380. They are doing that when the new Weatherford College is built. That is really going to make people (truckers) mad!!!
We don't need more red lights to slow everyone down. We need folks to drive with at least a small bit of intelligence and alertness and look before they head out from a stop sign! DUUUUH
we just need some good ole heavy handed law enforcement, nazi style. that will stop the stop sign runners. I say we put the Runaway Bay police in charge. They seem to do a good job! you never see bad wrecks there!!!

Much the same for our Highway Department who cannot find any stroke to get a light put at business 380/380. Sad.
How bout you just look and make sure it is clear before you pull out onto 380!

Why not put up a banjo and everytime you come to that intersection, sit there and play with the banjo a little before you prodeed?
