ONCE AGAIN. What part of illegal don't these people understand?

Everyone who is aganist it is aganist it for what it does to our economy, everyone who is for it, is for it for election reasons. 'Ooo I can get a portion of the huge hispanic vote if I am against it!'

God bless her for doing her job and protecting our constitution. Some people, who love to scream about protecting the constitution, like to conveniently forget that regulating immigration is a power explicitly reserved for the federal government.

Sorry teapartiers and right wing nut-jobs, we cannot pick and choose what parts of the constitution that we defend. We must defend all of it.

One thing the judge ruled: she made it illegal for illegal aliens to solicit employment in public places. Does that strike anyone else as ironic?

152 - The Supreme Court has previously decided on the side of states who enacted laws directed toward illegal immigrants. (e.g., De Canas v. Bica, 1976. In that case the court's opinion said "the Court has never held that every state enactment which in any way deals with aliens is a regulation of immigration and thus per se pre-empted by this constitutional power, whether latent or exercised."

Here is a very persuasive argument for the constitutionality of the Arizona law. One passage for those who don't care to follow the link: "In Levine v. Wyeth (2009), the Court declared that "[w]e start with the assumption that the historic police powers of the States were not to be superceded by the Federal Act unless that was the clear and manifest purpose of Congress." Every state has an inherent "police power," which allows the state to legislate for the health, safety, morals, and welfare of its people. In enacting its immigration statute, the Arizona legislature was exercising its police power in a reasonable attempt to protect its citizens from the many baneful effects of illegal immigration."

Hope she gets taken out by a group of drug thugs from across the border! Not sure what's controversial about Legal vs. illegal...seems pretty clear to me that illegal means you're breaking the law by being here....nuff said.

The rule of law loses out to a left-wing, nut job, radical, activist judge once again.

1:52 I have one question. If the regulation of immigration is the federal government's job, then what is the appropriate action for any state to take when the federal government fails to do their job?

I cringe to think that if Texas were actually being invaded, we could not even protect ourselves if the federal boys failed to do so.

Not gonna argue with you right wing nuts right now. The law is overturned.....game over for you guys.....we win.....I guarantee you the supreme court will uphold the ruling.

The progressive flip is inevitable.....hop on the train or get left behind.

progressive flip = economic collapse
europe has already proven that

Why do we even have laws?

526 - I admit I'm kind of slow on the uptake on some things. And it may be because my mind (seeing as how I'm a right wing nut) doesn't work so good. But can you explain to me how a "temporary injunction" equates to "game over?" And the word appeal keeps coming up. Can you explain what that is, and how it applies to "game over?"

5:26 The law is not overturned you liberal, illegal alien loving weanie! The judge simply issued a temporary stay.

No thanks on your invite to hop on the train. I'm not into trainwrecks and we'll soon witness one of the biggest in history.

Since it is ok now to be illegal in this country and break the law, I guess I won't pay my taxes, I can speed on 287, kick that woman I can't stand at work's butt..umm and that is just off the top of my head.. Thank heaven it is a temporary injunction and not final (read appeal). I am not getting on any stupid train either...Amen wordkyle and 7:29!!!!!!

I'm kinda new to this blog. But I gotta say I'm curious as to how many of you feel your job has been taken away by an "illegal"? How many of you or your children aspire to mow lawns or wish to delve into the world of landscaping. Just how much of a threat do these hard working, no questions asked people pose? Would YOU do their job?? And for how much. Just askin'

5:26 If you are recruiting members for the Democratic party, celebrating a big smack down against Arizona for attempting to securing thier border is not a good strategy!

Arizona should send Obama the bill for 450,000 illegals who cross over every year to pay for police, hospital care, education, prisons, etc..

The border is a war zone and it is spilling over into our country. The US State Dept. has issued travel warnings for northern Mexico. I can remember when we could cross over to shop for a day and take our children with us!

Progressives want open borders so they can get more voters to stay in power; however, with the population explosion due to Latinos higher birth rate, providing jobs, food, water and free health care to anyone & everyone who can hop a fence will make us a third world country!

A mind set of "we win and you lose" is a recipe for disaster for the future of our country! Our constitution is about individual liberty and God given rights. Our founding fathers gave the federal government limited powers leaving the rest to the States!

Progressives are attempting a power grab to take over the economy, including health care while passing unfunded mandates for States.

At the mid-term elections, we have to send a message demanding our borders be secured.

1:12 It has nothing to do with menial jobs. What it has to do with is ILLEGAL people being allowed to come to OUR country and use OUR resources when they contribute no monetary support to the system they RAPE. If they want to come here, they can do it like generations did before them.....go through the legalization process and pay taxes.

112 - If you're argument is that illegals do jobs no one will do, then you have to take what goes along with that point:

- In June, 2010 there were 5,983 undocumented immigrants in the Arizona state prison population making up 14.8 percent
- Of all the prisoners serving time in Arizona state prisons for kidnapping, 40 percent were undocumented
- Of those in prison on drug charges, 24 percent were undocumented
- 13 percent of those serving time for murder were undocumented immigrants

It's logical to assume that if the illegals were not here, the vast majority, if not all, of the crimes they committed would not have occurred. Along with jobs, illegals commit crimes that no one else would do. If you pick up one end of the stick, you have to pick up the other end also.
