Random Wednesday Morning Thoughts

  • Actually caught the Rangers first "walk off" home run last night. Fantastic. Rangers now with an 8 1/2 game lead.
  • Fox 4 kept leading with some dumb "spy" story last night/this morning about some chick attempting to smuggle night vision scopes to Russia. But it seemed like an excuse to show about 15 hot pictures from her Facebook page.
  • I'm not sure how it was announced earlier this year that Wise County tax values would fall short of last year and now it's not so bad.
  • The House authorized another $33 billion for the was in Afganistan yesterday. Get us out of there.
  • Mrs. LL jumping off a cliff in Jamaica.
  • If the "Bush Tax Cuts" expire, I don't consider that to be a "tax increase" by the Obama Administration. But it's tricky.
  • Old Timer's Thought: Former Oakland Raiders Jack Tatum died yesterday. That guy was a thug. 100% thug. (And here's his five "greatest hits".)
  • A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in downtown Fort Worth yesterday. Honestly, I'm surprised that doesn't happen more often.
  • I was reading this story in the Star-Telegram about Intoxication Manslaughter charges being swapped but got bogged down on the age of the mother and her children.
  • KXAS's Kim Fischer blocked me from following her on Twitter! (But I can still go to her feed and read her posts. Weird.)
  • Edit: An acoustic cover of Outkast's "Hey, Ya" with 6.1 million views.

Well, if you would quit stalking Kim Fischer, then she wouldn't have to block you! Wonder what Mrs. LL would say about that?

By looking at her Twitter feed, does not look like you are missing anything really groundbreaking.

today's pic...it is so nice to see a woman who is comfortable in her own skin and doesn't feel the need to go the enhancement route. Natural boobs really ARE the best.

Tricky? Let's simplify it: Before Obama took office, Americans paid less in taxes. After he takes office, they pay more in taxes. Of course smokers, tanners and the intentionally uninsured already know about new and increased taxes under Obama.

For accuracy's sake, it's not Obama's deal, it's the Democrats in Congress. Nonetheless, Obama is the one who made the promise, so he takes the rap.

When you have to acknowledge that "it's tricky" to absolve Obama of blame, it should tell you that something's wrong with your reasoning.

Lets see. The Republican House passed the tax cut bill with an expiration date on the cuts, the Republican Senate then passed tax cuts with an expiration date on the cuts, then a Republican President signed into law tax cuts that have an expiration date. I have heard no Republican say they passed a bad law. But what else is new.

So we approve another $33 billion when they just announced they can't find $9 billion we already gave them. They claim poor financial management, sounds like par for the course for the government and just following Congress's example.

Girl today...another fake boob ho.

As for the intox manslaughter trial, why isn't the stupid mom being charged for not belting her kids in and for allowing them all to drive with someone who's drinking? She should be held responsible, in my opinion.

Is Zachary Blake Gober, the young man who was killed last evening on FM 51, the son of the Runaway Bay Department Manager, Roger Gober?

9:16 - you're right on. Wonder why Wordy can't recognize the simple facts.
Conservatives like to bemoan our huge deficit while spending copiously on 2 unfunded wars, creating a stagnant economy that led to a horrible recession and a near banking collapse while chirping along about needing "lower taxes."
Remember: Defense, SS and Medicare take up all our current tax income. What part of these programs do you want to cut to bring down the deficit?

916 - The tax cuts had to have an expiration to comply with Senate rules. When they controlled Congress the Republicans tried unsuccessfully to remove the sunset provision so that the tax cuts would be permanent. The vote required a supermajority and Democrats blocked their attempts.

Jack Tatum a thug, maybe. He had some dirty plays, but many of his hits were legal during that era of football! Blame the NFL, for allowing it, not him for doing it. Just like steriods in baseball when they had no official policy against PED's, everyone wants to blame the players but the majority of the blame lies on MLB for having blinders on. By calling him a thug you are making a moral judgement about the player and failing to see the bigger picture. The league was the real thug if in fact you are speaking about the way he played the game; they could have cleaned this up years ago but many of the rules to protect players are less than a decade old.

To me a thug is someone who spends his/her life to pursue a livelihood of assisting criminals from being punished for their crimes.

I want one of those new Obammy cars that cost 41 thousand dollars and goes 40 miles and then needs to be recharged for 8 hours. Now that's what I call government effeciency. I can't wait for them to run my health care either.

958 - Facts are indeed simple things, but the ideas connecting those facts are not always simple. Please show your work reflecting the causation the wars had on the recession or the bank collapse. (I obviously have a different opinion.)

Please explain your point -- I think -- that the three items you mentioned are the only causes of the deficit. (Your question implies that cutting them is the only solution.)

Ricks on the Cliffs is a cool place, but it's hard to pay for beer and food when it's free at your hotel. On the other hand you get more weed buying opportunities at Ricks!

I would agree that most of Jack Tatum's action on the gridiron was technically legal; however, the Raiders were infamous as the most notoriously dirty team in football. He and Hacksaw Reynolds were probably the worst of the bunch. Most players hit their opponents because they like to play football. I think maybe those guys played football because they liked to hit people. And hitting people was probably the least dirty thing they did
The strict definition of thug may not apply in this case, but it's not that far off the mark

Today's pic (and several others from recent days) - she might as well have a tattoo on her forehead that says: "What are you looking up here for?"

Saying that the Russian girl is a spy is a very convenient hook to grab viewers. It may be nothing more than her version of what happened. But she was trying to smuggle restricted items out of the country, to Russia. The fact that she's becoming a media darling, and folks will root for her on her Facebook page just proves my point about the Idiocratization of this country.

Yeah, Idiocratization...you heard it here first

I guess Kim Fisher blocked you because you mentioned Greggo's horse face remark about her.
