War On Drugs: The Battle Contines

Looks like we've got a dope trial going on in Decatur and, once this thing gets going, I'll let you in on a little background. Trust me, it's got some insanity to it. But we've got a six man/six woman jury which includes one guy wearing shorts and, thank goodness, an African-American. And we have a visiting judge from Denton presiding.

Why are you thanking for an Afro-American? Why not have an Asian, Latino or East Indian on the jury? Your rascism floors me.

Barry, your being racist again!

Dont make me kick your whitey ass! I know I can.

Were Drugs or Alcohol involved?

Barry, are you insinuating that an all non African-American jury would convict them just because they're Arfican-American or that the African-American jurist will find him not guilty regardless of the facts of the case for the same reason?

Your posters this afternoon could easily be participants in a "dope" trial. It appears they all OD'ed on dumb-ass pills!

What's wrong with shorts?? It's HOT outside. No need for a stupid dress code to listen.

They're not having outdoor court today. It's inside, where the A/C is

There's nothing wrong with shorts.

If the "COURTS" have a problem with what someone wears to jury duty, etc. they ought to publish those rules in the jury summons.

You would think that "people" would have enough common sense to wear something appropriate for a court setting. If they did print a dress code on there, then you people would be yelling that the government is trying to tell you how to dress (which probably wouldn't be a bad idea these days).

The guy was thinkin' "they'll never pick me dressed like this"!

Show me a WC drug trial that doesn't have a little bit of insanity involved.

I wear my Clint Eastwood shirt that reads "HANG EM HIGH" and they never pick me.

4:16 - I agree with you on this one........and do we want the judge and lawyers to enter the courtroom in cutoffs (course, we don't know what is under the judge's robes - but that remains their business).......when he or she enters in that black robe and we all rise to our feet, we SHOULD, as we are TOLD by the words, "Please Rise"..... A courtroom is a place where lives are changed. It should be treated with great respect.

My opinion: Jurors should dress appropriately also.....if they want to wear shorts, save that for home or the beach. If they are stupid enough to enter a courtroom dressed inappropriately, they should be told at the door to go home and come back dressed appropriately. We even have dress codes in the school.

If we want respect in the courtroom, it can begin with attire.

How unlucky can you be? The only black person in Wise County and you get selected for jury duty?
