Hey folks, this economy did NOT tank just since Obama took office in January. It took George W. Bush and crew 8 years to turn prosperity into a severe recession. Obama is trying to work out of the mess with the Republicans digging in their heels to resist all measures. The fact that oil and gas prices are down directly affects Wise Co. Many of you cried when gasoline prices approached $4 a gallon. Now you complain when the Wise gas/oil activity has gone dormant. You just can't have it both ways.

By the way, I knew nothing about Wise County until the late 1980s when I was buying foreclosed real estate from the FDIC. I found a couple of deals in Wise County at the auctions. I was around for that crash and profited from it. I understand this one better than most. We professionals saw it coming for at least a decade. You are probably a dumb ass with a sub prime mortgage. It is hell when your home is worth $100,000 less than you owe on it and need to move because jobs have played out in Wise County. I might buy it when this crash hits bottom in about five years. It took the one from the 80s around 6 years to bottom out. Sorry about the long wait. A hard rain is going to fall.
The next signal testing the health of the Wise County economy will come around Sept. 1 when the schools have their enrollment numbers. When compared to the enrollment for past years we might be getting a feel for what is happening and see a big slow down in growth. I spoke with a banker last week and he reports that they have no new residential construction loans going out. No new houses means no new kids in school. No new kids in school means falling real estate values.

And of your "republican" majorities in the senate there are about 8-10 RINO's who consistently voted with the Democrats, so that argument is null and void for republican senate control.
