The lack of alcohol and drugs is responsible for the low turnout at Gospel Night. Everyone knows The Wise County Reunion is all about drugs, booze and booty.
That's really sad.
A poster under your Wednesday Random Thoughts said something about these gospel singers being a bunch of "drunks".
That group looks pretty clean cut to me. Good to see a child in the group learning how to sing good four part harmony.
The Hinkle Family is magnificant and the crowd was larger than pictured most of the time, not to mention most of the benches were being used outside of the pavilion. It was no doubt the best of the evening music offered this week.
Where the Hell is everybody?
What about alcohol on the weekend, is it still allowed?

Wow, pictures speak a thousand words. I recall when I was a kid, Gospel Music Night filled that pavilion!
I believe there was a different mind set back in those days. A mind set where people REALLY DID worship God and enjoyed getting together to do it. Now days, it seems most church goers are just talking the talk. They seem to be more interested in who has the biggest church or who is "more right" in their beliefs (even within the same church!).
In short, God has been slowly removed from our schools, our society, and this is what is left. Very sad indeed.

Gospel music is good. If they had just had 2 keg-o-beer's on hand, they might have had a better turn out. One marked "BEER" and another marked "LEMONADE" for the Baptists. And they could have made a c-note a pop on underagers getting a draw. What a waste of lost revenue. And everybody would have probably had a bigger time, except for the underagers. But, underagers could tell the stories for decades to come about the Wise County Reunion Gospel Hour.
Thursday night was a joke we are in America not f---ing Mexico why can't we have hip hop, pop, etc... NOT SPANISH NIGHT!!! GET REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The board should think about that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
