Yep its true! I guess its a grid thing again I have power but others dont!

Power has been restored. A tree limb was resting on the ground wire and two other wires of the power lines. When the Oncore repair man arrived the tree limb was smoldering. He cut off the tree limb and poured water on the smoldering tree limb and reset the "return" at the transformer.

We were without electricity for 1.5 hours.

W must have been using to many power tools in his dungeon of doom, getting his golf cart street ready after his last accident at The Club. Golf Carts have alignment issues when you hit a rock while drunk in public as Ron White would say.

this was not in the messenger. i guess we are too bridgeport for them to worry about our first outage.

Anonymous said...

I thought they all got to pick which day their power would be out.

Good report mzchief, thanks

It is not the City's responsibility for the power. Contact your local ONCOR rep to complain about it.

Just another reason to buy a wind generator. They cost about $8K and you can get a government grant to pay for it if you live in a rural county.

What a country!

nothings changed I live in R.A.B rude awful bunch as the world see's us after reading these and the privious posts of Chilly in Runawaybay Our city is doomed F' the looks of the front gate and surrounding area.Enought written here to realize only direction our community is headed is DOWN!Chilly dosnt even come close to a correct discription of R.A.B. and its citizen's sad so very sad.

Anonymous said...

10:26 - so why is RAB doomed? What do you propose to help it? Please offer some definition and suggestions.

Anonymous said...

3:15 Gladly offer solutions not mere suggestions!
First suggestion is free!
Everyone stop hacking everyone up on these post putting R.A.B. in an even less appealing lite!I.E. luvy.thurstan etc!
Issues such as how to and what to do with things like that of the Main entrance will not be free! I know he wont work for free but I assure you his ideals are fantastic and would set us in the proper lite first appearence is everything!
He has two projects the city could take on for little money that probably in the first year would pay for themselves and from that time onward is 98% R.O.I. with little maintinance involved on the part of the city employee's.
No he wont work for free but he could be had for reasonble rates he and I have already talked about this in depth I mention his ideals to my husband and sevral other folks who think he really has somtihng with these two plans alone! I continue to call on him and ask him to step forward with these wondeful ideals as we need somthing to turn our City around!without fail our conversations always end with his refrencing his past and the unfortunate dealings with City officials and council members as well as postings like these full of negative rantings and such! I am thinking he really does know what he is talking about after re-reading some of these postings!
to answer you question as to why is R.A.B. doomed nO growth old school thinking old school as the previous post mention! No emminity's nothing to draw any attention or interest to this lovly area!Only individual has anything going for them is the Shell as it will soon be our only store. He will have a monopoly as One Stop is out of everything! Hotel hasnt really been thuping either seeing as how the My place on the lake was KILLED OFF! DOOMED is right take a look around and listen to what tho it be negative has been written here over the past few day!
Lets ACT now and turn our city around!I am all for helping instead of talking about it! I cant "DONATE money" but I can my time! I am all for it tell me what I can do to make a differnce?

Do you ALWAYS get your drunk on prior to 4:00 PM or is your spell/grammar check deselected? Perhaps, I have been harsh and owe you an apology because English is not your first language.

Like I previously stated, Hubby mzchief and I were VERY active in the community for nearly 2 decades. Dealing with the back stabbing and old timers not wanting anything to change was such a beating we just decided to mind our own business and GOLF. We have, for 20+ years, watched the warring factions of RAB tear apart RAB and are glad we no longer are a part of that soul sapping, low brow experience. There are COUNTLESS reasons there is a vacant council seat.

I vote and pay taxes and that gives me the RIGHT to state the fact that RAB has become a PIT. I stand by my assertion that the painted eggs on a stick and scraggly tree with the pathetic decorations are TACKY & TRASHY. Here is my suggestion to making the entrance more appealing. CUT DOWN THE TREE and install a flower bed with shrubs and mulch around the entrance sign. Oh right! RAB lacks the ability to maintain landscaping that requires something other than mowing. RAB maintenance workers DESTROYED the $2,500+ worth of landscaping DONATED and installed for FREE at the "Civic Center." RAB maintenance workers weed ate all the decorative grasses, chopped the tops off of the Crepe Myrtles and continue to chop on the Red-Tip Photinias that were installed as a SCREEN and SHADE for the back patio of the Civic Center. Remember all of the wildflowers the Home Owner's Association spent YEARS planting along the highway? Those vanished along with 2 miles of Blue Bonnets because RAB maintenance workers mowed them, year after year after year after year, PRIOR to allowing the flowers to drop their seed and replant for NEXT season. Just for your information, I told EVERYONE/Mayors/Council members for nearly a DECADE to STOP mowing the wildflowers PRIOR to their dropping their seed or there would not be anymore wildflowers. Incidentally, I am a Texas Master Gardener so I do KNOW what I am talking about with regard to NOT mowing perennial flowering plants PRIOR to the plants dropping their seed.

I have paid for and EARNED my RIGHT to announce to the ENTIRE blogasphere the fact that RUNAWAY BAY SUCKS!

Without giving myself away here but most of those whom do know reffer to me as the import of coarse most wernt aware I know this.I do not drink ever and think I do very well with words here I dont think you would do as well with my language esp written. No offence taken none ment.

Trust me, I do know what it is to be referred to as "That Foreign Girl/Woman" by the people who live in RAB. I have been called that for the 20+ years I have lived in RAB.

Anonymous said...

Gosh, I thought 9:29/4:18 was Mrs. Walt Warner. Whatever, I have to reluctantly agree with mzchief's observations of RWB for a change.

Anonymous said...

I am bewilderd by how everything has gone exactly the way it was told me it would go.That man must have a crystal ball. 9:04 Mzcheif you know about the plants and greens and Native things I do not know what grows and will live here in Texas But I would like to know these things! How was it that all of the donated material was ruined by the workers?were they not told of these plants and to mind them properly? I dont remeber any of this being done at the gate or anywhere.Must have been before my time! I would gladly landscape the main gate if the correct native grass or materials were donated I am sure I can talk my friend into helping

In 2004 the city of RAB was provided DETAILED instructions on the proper care and watering of the landscaping donated and installed at the Civic Center. Oh, right! Napoleon/Warner, the man who knows everything and cannot be told anything, was mayor at the time. When the instructions were given to the city secretary and the city manager BOTH of them said, "These look good but I'm sure "The Mayor" will have his own ideas."

The city went from Control Freak Warner to, "I manage through delegation," Complete Deniability Jowitt.

Anonymous said...

Wow looks lke we have some real geniuses on our hands. How bout you use your intelligence and run for mayor or else just quit bitching and get a life? I love it here. And if anyone wants to get away from a meth problem get the hell out of Wise County!

Anonymous said...

The WP's have their hands full on denial and unaccountability. Always blame someone else. Go somewhere else and run for City Council so they can see just how bright your half thoughts are. The current council and Mayor are the best group the Bay has had in a long time. At least they work together and not as individuals. They all have bright ideas and not hidden agendas as some who run have and have had in the past. It taked money to accomplish some things and some are not willing to DONATE. If this is such a bad town, put a 4 sale sign up and move. Every small town has it's quirks. but at least the council is trying with what they have got to work with.

Sorry, 6:26, this council is merely an echo chamber. There is no independant thought or discussion at meetings - they are told what they think before meetings. Check it out sometime. They only appear to "get along" as they follow dictates pretty well. Unfortunate for the city.

My God now shes a Master Gardner...well Lovie I'm a master bater....Hey my Golf carts running a little Rich can you fix that to....

Anonymous said...

this is the import, sorry to have brought about such feelings and problems here.I was told this would be the outcome of issues discussed such as these! without fail the man I have spoken to on sevral occasions over the past few days told me where this would go and how it would end up,correct on every point thus far! Sorry if I have dug up old pain left needed to be bury seems i have done so.

What about the Mayor Tyce Simmons? Was he a do nothing or a do gooder???

Anonymous said...

There is a continuing patter in RAB. Current mayor is screwing up. A reformer runs and hopes are high. Then the new mayor seems to descend into a dictatorial pattern - ignoring the council and the public. This has been repeated since Barbara Blake. Shotwell, Warner, Simmons and now Jowitt. They came in with hope and reputation. They leave with both shattered.

Tyce was simply a joke.I remember Tyce being handed his own ass on more than one occasion.
