A Follow Up To My Random Thought About Early Voting

I just picked up a copy of the Dallas Morning News. This picture was on the cover. (Click to enlarge.)

So, what's your point? Are you relishing in the fact that all those people standing in line are black and who are more than likely voting for Obama because he's black? Your hero?

Yeah, that's definitely an important reason one should pick a president.

I'm a whitey so I guess I'll vote McCain since he's a whitey too.

theres 20 more votes for Obama

Gentlemen - as much as you do not want to admit it, these people standing in line are your fellow Americans.
They, my friends, are NOT your enemy.

Anonymous said...

Who said they were 12:54 and 1pm's enemies 1:12?

Anonymous said...

No! Our enemy (the Muslim) is running for President! Lord help us ALL.

If you saw a line of people waiting to vote in Wise County, you could assume that the votes would be split. You can't make the same assumption from that photo.
The truth is that the black community will be coming out in droves to vote for Obama, mostly because he is black (and he only got that half right). How many of the people in that line would have voted at all, not to mention early, for Hillary Clinton?
Obama is just a slicker, non-rhyming version of Jesse Jackson.
And please tell me McCain is gonna be four more years of Bush, because I haven't heard that one enough!

I feel sorry for the bigots posting on this topic. You folks are pathetic.

Anonymous said...

Actually, these people are all voting for Bob Barr.

Anonymous said...

Mickey Mouse is voting for Obammy because they both have big ears. Race has nothing to do with it.

Anonymous said...

Looks like only 4 of them are old enough to be retired so why aren't the rest of those people at work on a weekday during business hours?

A bigot is a person who is intolerant of opinions, lifestyles, or identities differing from his or her own, and bigotry is the corresponding state of mind.

2:14 Help me please? Why did you call the posters bigots? Are you stating it's OK for blacks to vote for a president just because he's black and shame on those posters for saying it's not?

ALERT..FATALITY ACCIDENT HWY 51 NORTH NEAR SLIDELL...

This country may be worse off if Obama doesn't get elected.....Some of our "fellow Americans" would be pissed off and start tearing everything up. ie Rodney King.
I am sick of everybody saying "he'll get shot before he gets sworn in".......That my "fellow Americans" would be a nightmare. Personally, I just hope the guy is telling the truth about being a Christian.

2:14 I don't really see any bigoted comments here, other than the first one about whitey (probably being facetious, anyway).
Is it wrong to call a spade a spade? Yes, bad pun. But you can't honestly say that those people would be voting in force for anybody else. And by those people, I mean the ones in the pic, not "those people". Just pre-empting any accusation you may hurl at me.
However, if Condi Rice were running, I would vote for her. If Colin Powell were running as a Republican, I would vote for him. I suspect lots of other conservatives would do the same.
I submitted the post @ 1:52. Do I fall into your "bigot" pile?

In a democracy, people have the right to vote for the person they want to. Respect it if you can and if you can't, try to deal with it.

Anonymous said...

Their votes won't won't count.........Texas is going for McCain regardless of who wins the election:)

I, for one am ashamed to admit that that picture caused me to form some prejudicial thoughts, but it also caused me to realize that it's no accident that you and the Dallas Morning news intended this reaction. I believe this election is not as close as the media wants us to believe because I believe that many caucasians will vote for Obama for a number of reasons that they believe are right. Some for party loyalty, some for the issues, some for their disgust of our country's situation, and some who feel this will ease their guilt. The racial issue of Mr Obama's run for prsidency has been magnified only by the far left and the black community. It cannot be blamed on those who choose to vote for McCain for what they feel like are the right reasons.

I was kinda wondering the same as 2:49 PM. Maybe they all just took a little time off their jobs to vote? Hope so.

one thing is for certain, obama will still be a nigger whether he's elected or not, so put that in your pipe an smoke it !

I'm voting Democrat because like most Americans I trust lawyers more than anyone else. I think only lawyers should run the government and all the Democrat leaders are lawyers: Obama(both of them) Biden, Edwards, Pelosi, Reid, Clinton(both of them)and Kerry to name just a few. Al Gore dropped out of law school, so I don't trust him as much, except on Global Warmism. I'm voting Democrat because the Democrats support the trial lawyers and I think this country needs more lawsuits and less tort reform. And I don't believe the trial lawyers contributions have a thing to do with it. I'm voting Democrat because Congress has done such a wonderful job under Democrat leadership the last two years that I want a lot more of the same. I'm voting Democrat because I want to get my health care from the same competent, efficient, cost-effective customer service focused folks who run the US Post Office, FEMA and the state Registry of Motor Vehicles. I'm voting Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun and I know the police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves. I'm voting Democrat because Obama has promised to cut taxes of 95% of the people, including the 30% who don't pay taxes. I'm voting Democrat because Obama has promised to take away the secret ballot in union elections, and I think the union bosses should know if a working man or woman is with them or against them. I'm voting Democrat because Obama voted present instead of yes or no over 120 times in the Illinois State Senate, and I think we need a decivise president. I could go on and on but my fingers are tired.

What an honor it would be to be black, voting at the Martin Luther King Jr Core Center, and for a black president. They've came a long way baaby. Thank you God

Anonymous said...

I figured Mickey Mouse would vote McCain/Palin/Republican because of the simular ways Mickey Mouse and Republicans do business.

6:09; Excellent!!

9:30; You have my permission to pull your foot out of your mouth or your head out of your ass, which ever it is. It's people like you who watch too much television, listen to the liberal pundits way too much and cannot research and study on your own. I know, I know, you don't have time because you can't get off the couch due to having a diet Coke in one hand and a bag of Chess Puffs in the other. We understand, sit back down, we'll handle things.

I call John McCain Change and Sarah Palin Hope.

Some things to let you know our country is without hope and has lost way.

The fact that Obama has gotten ANYWHERE in this race on his-platform?

The gazillions of dollars of dollars in pork attached to the bailout bill.

The fact that that EVERY economist with anything going on between his ears is saying the bailout won't work. It's a waste. Things will get better without it- it will fair out on its own. And if you felt like you HAD to do something there are way better things to do that would be much cheaper.

No one is calling the people really responsible for the meltdown mess. The Dems who were getting rich while telling the Repubs to shut their pie holes while they were calling for more oversite. And the American people who didn't have sense enough to know they were getting in over their heads.

There's more but, I'm too sad to go on.

I hear baby Jesus crying. I have to go for now.

WOW! 7Oh2, besides trying to be a MasterdeBater, tell us all where the liberal pundit radio/tv is?
And you, can pull it away from your hand. Cunserbatives! HAHAHA!!! Refreshing you don't listen to ANY Right Wing Conservative stuff, and have drawn/squeezed all this info/stuff on your on. Good luck. You need it. Just suck it up and accept.

7:02 Morning person that worries about liberal based media:
http://www.reachm.com/amstreet/archives/2008/10/20/always-were-always-will-be/
-----------------------
George Will, Limbaugh, Buchanan - they are bigots. They believe that America means conservativism
and conservatism stands for the preservation of an Ameirca perpetually dominated by wealthy white males...

The GOP is a sanctuary for racists. It is a side-effect of political correctness that we never discuss why
they don’t attract minorities or better educated constituencies, and are stuck with bed-wetting nutbags...

As long as people like Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Reilly and Michael Savage pollute the airwaves, answerable
to no one and accountable only to their bankers, we really won’t see the end of this stuff."
