An emailer sent me this link to a handful of amazing photos published, in all places, the Boston Globe web site.

That's a great site and those are amazing pictures. My son-in-law is down there right now helping and he said it's pretty bad.

Early Settler to the coastline "we will only have to rebuild about 10 times per generation I guess its worth it if someone else foots the bill".

Another great idea let's build our main refineries where one of the biggest natural destructive forces known to man hits?

Its all uphill from there!

1:59...please tell me you weren't being sarcastic during your first statement.

After viewing the pictures on the link Barry posted, I have become sick to my stomach.

My thoughts and prayers to all of the victims of Ike.

3:33 Do a search on major hurricanes that have devistated our coastline since we have been recording these events, you will see tons of this!I was being sarcastic and trying to purvey a message at the same time. This is a preventable catastrophy, move further inland! It's sad anytime you loose life and property. As the seas warm we will see more storms and larger ones. Its only been 3 yrs, some learned from katrina some didn't.I'm not the smartest person in the world, but i do know if you stand in the highway your chances of getting run over are pretty good.
