Tonight mark's the final home opener ever at Texas Stadium. I actually attended the first event ever at the venue - not a football game but a Billy Graham Crusade.
But former sports writer Frank Luksa recounts the Top 10 games in stadium history here. I remember watching all of them except #6 and #9.

BG,tonight marks the final Monday night game ever at Texas Stadium, not the final home game ever.
What is the City of Irving planning on doing with that property? I'll bet it's some expensive real estate.
in reference to the HIGH SHERIFF'S WEDDING I heard George Strait was there? Any truth to that? AND I saw a white limo at the Sheriff's house as well as a white helicopter yesterday afternoon. The Sheriff is back in town. I turned around and saw the Sheriff and a short guy in a cowboy hat shake hands and get in the helicopter and leave. I think that was George Strait. I know he and the Sheriff are friends...Barry you need to do some investigating.
1248 you need to learn to read..he didn't say it was the final home game, dumbass..!!
We used to go to the Thanksgiving game every year (only one you gould get tickets to). I still remember Clint Longley's miracle game. Also back in the day everyone carried those pump thermos' full of margaritas to the game.
Good times.
George Strait was not at the sheriff's wedding. I have a friend who works for the sheriff's department who said that they tried to get him to appear to perform at the reception, but he could not fit it into his schedule. Apparently, the sheriff proposed to his wife on George's bus in OKC. They got in contact with him through Roy Cooper.
they should have gotten J.D. Clark to sing at their wedding!!
I saw Madonna there in 1988.
True Blue, baby I love you.
I saw Iggy Pop, Ziggy Marley, INXS,and Guns and f'n Roses there, which was 80 times better than any damn foosball game evar played thare, but probably not as good as Billy Graham.
The beginning of "THE END" will begin on 12-21-12 @12:21:12
I was at the first concert ever held at TX Stadium, and almost the last because of the damage left behind by the crowd.
