I don't call it sensationalism! This was a BIG storm with devestating potential! I appreciate the warning! We sure didn't get it with our Decatur city sirens! Oh yeah... they did finally fire up... AFTER the danger had passed!! geeeeeze! asleep at the wheel...
Not sure where channel 4,5, and 8 were. They sure bowed out of notifying us of this storm. Only channel 3 (on cable) and sometimes channel 11 covered it. THANKS BUNCHES METROPLEX channels! DUH!
8:44, there was a great deal of coverage on ALL the major DFW news channels, including plenty of advance notice that the storm would pass over Decatur.
i heard a twister formed over a sand truck and touched down right over 380 and all those signs they were waiting on were taken up intothe black cloud and now Bill nelson is intouch with channel 8 and is probably going to file suit . crap!!
If you've experienced the force of a tornado, you'd rather be safe and forewarned rather than sorry later.
I parked my car under the Wells Fargo carport yesterday evening. It's amazing how many vehicles can cram under there with the threat of hail. One of the vehicles was a Decatur police car - our tax dollars at work. If that vehivle is sitting idle, why did we buy it?
I was glad that at least one channel continued broadcasting info about this very severe storm, long after the other major Metroplex channels went back to regular programming. Afterall, there's nothing better than being unaware and being blown away by a tornado, while watching American Idol.
None of them usually broadcast a storm's status unless it is affecting somewhere in the Metroplex directly! Hey, does this mean that Wise County has finally arrived!!?? LOL!!
Irresponsible? Blame the government? Try looking at Barry's radar link and being responsible for your own survival. This bad storm was moving toward Wise County all afternoon, constantly showing tornado activity. About 5:30p.m. it had moved into Jack County. About 5:35pm I decided to load the dog in the truck,"get out of Dodge" and head for a peaceful dinner at Southlake. Got 3 drops of water on my truck. Radar doesn't lie.

I will only believe him when he starts wearing a bowtie.
We would have heard sirens if a kid got hit by lightning.
Hey, it could always be worse. It could be Steve McCauley going crazy about the "cap".
at least the sheriff's office did the reverse 911 thing because i got it way before i heard decaturs sirens
finally you stopped watching channel 4.
I heard an F5 formed over the square. On wait, that was the dream I had last night.

They said it would probably head for Decatur after it left Breckinridge. Just saying.
