Wow: Life Not Death.

Verdict just in. The death penalty is becoming a harder and harder sell in this State. Ten years ago, the intentional killing of a cop would get you The Needle. But it's not automatic any more. Not even in Fort Worth.

"... Hank Nava was a good officer and a good man. When we send them to the streets, they are representatives of the law, of the legal system. When they are gunned down, that it is not an attack on a single man, that's an attack on every member of society," Prosecutor Alan Levy said.

"You know what the evidence shows and you know what has to be done and I hope you will do it," Levy said.

It might as well be death. Can you image spending the rest of your life in prison?

Looks like Alan levy is losing his magic touch... time for Alan to change over to the other side. What do ya think Barry?

They'll be turning loose convicted terrorists soon... uh, or have they already done that?

Too bad the person murdered didn't get life as well.

I am impressed with the posts following that story. 6:03, that is the best point. The person he murdered did not get any kind of a trial. The last thing he saw in life was not the face of a loved one, but the face of hate and evil. You seem pleased, Barry, that the murderer of one who dedicated his career to keeping others got off with life. You all should realize that the legislature expanded jury selection pools from registered voters (i.e.- the people who actually care enough about their community and country to fill out a voter card) to include anyone with a drivers license (including those too apathetic, stupid, or lazy to pick up a card at the post office and fill it out and leave it). This is the result of liberals reaching out with their cold, gnarled tentacles to include people who don't care in the criminal justice system. It is amazing how far the left will go to bring the useless parts of society into the dispensation of justice.

I sat in on this trial every day and this killer is not a human being. It is even a disgrace to animals to put this guy in the same catagory. I can not believe that after all the jurors heard that they even considered life. He truly should have gotten the death sentence. Life w/out parole is not the same. He will still be able to watch T.V. and play cards and basketball or whatever w/ the other scummy people he shares the pen with. I am just appalled.

The left had better be careful. They might just get what they want some day. I don't understand how anyone could be more concerned with a killer sh_t bag dodging death, than a slain cop and his family getting justice. I am a fifteen year cop. Its almost not worth it anymore. Disgusting!

Just keep em locked out with fear and exclusion, so they will remain ignorant to the truth? I don't think so! Times are changing.
