Hannah Montana Tickets: Another Reason The Terrorists Are Winning

All from Fox 4 News tonight:

(Above.) Just a mom and her daughter getting out of a limo at the concert tonight. Mom's wearing a hot dress. Maybe.

"I paid $355 for two." (Actual quote.)

"Well, we got some T-shirts and some programs. Ya know, we just spent $20 to park. Once you get here and you've gone this far, what's money?" (Actual quote.)

Moms gone wild.

Seriously - I wouldn't pay $20 to take my daughter - much less $100's.

And people wonder why our country is in the shape it is in. (Bet they are majority Republicans)

Paying an INSANE amount to take a child to see Miley Cyrus is NO different than some SPORTS NUT paying an INSANE amount to see their favourite sports team.

Please note the use of the word INSANE.

Hey, I thought you guys wanted everyone to buy American?

Why do we care? I thought a significant portion of the Republican agenda supports putting money back in the hands of the individual, b/c individuals know best what they want to do with it. I thought a significant portion of the Democratic agenda supports letting people do what they want and not judging them for the choices they make.

I don't find much lasting joy in buying and owning "stuff", but the memories of the experiences that I've had are priceless. I'm not a fan of Hannah Montana, but if my kid was that interested and I had the excess funds, why not?

yeah mzchief, we saw your use of the word insane...YOU SCREAMED IT AT US!!

Making a memory with your child is priceless...and I agree that it is no different than those who pay a huge amount to see a sports event or any other kind of event..to each his own. And seriously, what does this have to do with the shape our country's in...good grief!

Mzchief, I agree, even though my family and I sure did enjoy the $150 a seat Star's tickets my friend gave me yesterday for last nights game. ;)

I guess I'm on the fence, dollar-wise. Would I pay $20-$100 to take my kid to see "Hannah Montana?" Uh, no. Wouldn't go if it were free.

Now, do I voluntarily shell out way too much money for family affairs in order to enjoy those memory-making moments? Yeah. Six Flags (jugular), movies (home of the $4 Coke)...

MY family is NOT immune to the WAY CRAZY sports ticket prices. I am certain my husband could have bought a spare liver for what he paid for the tickets for him and our son to see the Stars LOSE the Stanley Cup in Dallas in 2000.

However, my husband and I have a system that has worked for us for nearly 23 years. He does not complain about what I pay for shoes and I do not mention the INSANE things he does.

Don't you think seeing HANNAH MONTANA is alot better for your child than not taking them any where and sitting back and watching them slowly turn to really BAD stuff out of boredom? Come on they are only young once. Live alittle, and let kids be kids. We were and it didn't stop us from wanting to be like all the other kidds we grew up with. Getting to do things that were safe and legal, makes for a good memory no matter what it is, RIGHT?

And what would the cost to rent one of those stretch Hummers I saw on TV last night add to the total bill?

Betty Boop, from where I come from, these things would have made a nice down payment on a new John Deere.

MzCreep - I thought you were a widow from some of the older posts you have made. You must have remarried. Congratulations to you, my sympathies to your husband.

yeah, I too feel sooooo soooory for MZCHIEFs better half

To 2:24...
If YOU inferred from my comments that I was widowed it was an error or YOUR part. I have only been married ONCE. My husband and I have been HAPPILY together nearly 23 years.

If you want to make memories with you children then take a walk, ride a bike or read a book together. It isn't necessary to spend hundreds of dollars and join the insanity to make memories w/your kids.

4:19, that may be true, but memories of para-sailing over the beach in Jamaica...walking over the Great Wall of China...or spending a few days at Disney are also memorable...although a little expensive.

I'll never forget seeing the Stones in concert. Did I overpay...absolutely. Do I regret it...no way.

HELL, my sons pays big money to watch your wifes and daughters dance at New orlean nites~

When you buy your ticket, they should have a tattoo artist sitting there who gives you a free "sucker" tattoo on your forehead.

"para-sailing over the beach in Jamaica...walking over the Great Wall of China...or spending a few days at Disney" doesn't equal Hanna Montana in concert - it just doesn't.
