Auto Mechanics 101

I had a headlight go out on my SUV a couple of days. (Beating.) Now since that would be an open invitation for the local cops to pull me over, I figured I'd better fix it ASAP.

Since I'm capable of changing tires and changing batteries (and even famously changing my own oil when I was a teenager), I popped the hood to take a look at the back casing of the headlight to see if I could do it myself.

Not a chance.

Sheesh, it looked like I'd have to pull the engine to get to it. So I had to drop it off at James Wood's this morning to get it fixed (and it's already ready at 10:19 a.m. )

But that felt so wrong.

Edit: $47.12 (includes a really good car wash.)

Barry, back in the day one would have to replace the entire headlamp. But now-a-days all you have to do is replace the bulb. Check the owners manual and see what it says.

That is what you get for buying an GM SUV.

Helloooo, this is Mr. Goodwranch,Almost every headlight made within the last 10 years has a knurled plastic ring that you turn to remove the halogen bub.

It's soo easy a Caveman could do it.

To Barry...
The little lube shop that does state inspections located next to the self serve car wash on Hwy 380 in Bridgeport will change the bulb for a total of $10. Should you need your windshield wipers changed they do that for just the cost of the new wipers. At least that is what I was charged each time I took in my Sequoia a year and a half - two years ago.

I figgered you drove an Escalawd or a Navigater, Mzcreep.

You could have gone up to Auto Zone, spent 15 minutes or so and ALOT less money, bought the bulb, and had one of those nice young gentelmen change it out for you!
:-) Just a suggestion for next time.

I sorta wish I was there, where ever this was, if it happened.

4:36 PM"

It made me start thinking.

Were there people literally eating grass on the side of the road, and then you or some other person drove up on them, stopped, discussed their situation, decided some things, then they, (or you), drove away in your SUV, got some food and brought it back to them. Or did someone just have great quantities of food in their vehicle, and stopped and gave them some?

Is that what 4:36 is saying? Or, could 4:36 be saying:

They were picking up trash, while the highway mower's were stirring up grass. As I drove by, in my expensive SUV, I felt embarrassed. I imagined they were eating grass, and then it occurred to me, they were eating grass, they were breathing grass. So I ended up bringing them some food."

I just want to know what those people eating the freaking grass on the side of the road actually ate that night. Will someone please tell me.
