The defense was non-existent in this game and the Argyle game. Don't know what the heck happened to it towards the end of the season. Usually Jones and Reeves make good adjustments to stop the other team's offense, but not those two nights. Wylie and Argyle went right through them like a hot knife through butter. Wylie had a very good swarming defense that didn't allow Decatur's offense to do much at all. Ugly game.

yea, but it's still boyd!!!

Was this coach Henson's fault, again? Or was the other team just better or better prepared?

Giving credit where credit is due. Boyd will always have my respect. They played and hustled harder to the end of the fourth more than any other team I ever played against. Robby Cartwright led the team then, Hell of a QB. Before and since then I never heard of them any other way. Boyd has brought two state titles back to Wise that I know of. I give them hell ever chance I can, but Boyd has that something that the other teams are missing. Not to disrespect anyone just an opinion of ONE PANTHER. GIVE 'EM HELL YELLOWJACKETS!!!

I saw the Messenger last night also and swore I saw Bridgeport winning. Went to bed thinking I'd be watching them next weekend only to find out today that I won't have football plans!

Another shout out to the Yellowjackets!

Maybe or may not be Henson's fault, Sweetwaters offense was something Bridgeport has not seen. Possibly the cheerleaders not cheering (had 30 there) could have something to do with it. We are proud of Bridgeport -- they are taking it a step at a time.

Coaches did not make the kids forget to tackle, make miscues, and choose to be born from parents that don't have speed.

Decatur could not handle the " Highland Park" of Abilene

Hopefully Decatur will some day learn, if you're going to look like a "stud" you better play like one. You can get all suited up in your war paint, mow-hawks, taped shoes and wear sweat bands where sweating does'nt matter (like on your calve, bicep or forearm)and look good, but, if you can't hit, tackle and aren't aggressive, forget it. You'll get that same treatment Wiley put on us everytime. Get back to the basics boy's. You don't have to look pretty to be a good football player. When you have an NFL contract then you can look however you wish. Better luck next year.

What is it with all of that face painting anyway? I just don't get it.

Like everything else in Decatur, the football players are "wannabes".

Decatur should scrap all the glitz and get back to the basics. Black shoes, grass stained white pants (with tape holding their thigh pads in place), blue shirts with white numbers, no names on the back, white helmets with blue numbers on the side (if they're good enough for 'Bama they should be good enough for the primadonnas that play for Decatur).

I'll bet a couple seasons of that will toughen up those cupcakes. It will leave their spoiled little minds to think about football and not how cool they look while they're riding the pine.

I went to the Battle of the Big Sandy for the first time in a long time and was embarrassed to be a Decatur Eagle alum. To see the Decatur kids with full face paint made me wonder about the coaching staff and how much respect the kids have for them. With out respect or control how can they teach them anything. For the one or two coaches still active from my day, I just could not believe they would not say something to Coach Story on this matter. I guess time changes everything, but all we have now is a generation of spoiled nobody loses, everyones a winner, don't have no way of knowing what it takes to succeed in life mama's boys.

Sorry had a bout of good ol' day syndrom.

The face painting the players do isn't really school spirit. It's just a bunch of black face paint randomly strewn about. Not sure what it means.

Back in the day we just lined up and ran over ya. To the Anon post of Class 76. could you see W.Cauthen or Hunt, or Lewis, wearing face paint.LOL I bet even the girls on drill team back then could kick some butt.
