Must be something unusual that prevents the business from being able to get a loan. Weird. Normally, a manufacturer is able to get a commercial loan if the business plan is solid.
Isn't it funny that a liberal weenie asks how tax payer money is spent but they don't have any problems with more and more of it being collected from us?
As far as I know, it wasn't the "big" local manufacturer.

The good ole boy system can come back to bite you if you take on too much risk with a handshake and not enough capital. There is a limit to speculative investment.
Lots of good questions Barry! I wonder if they still need a loan. Maybe the EDC should get into the lending business and make some money to cover all the taxpayers money they're giving away.
As long as the EDC isn't funding projects that would have located or expanded in Decatur anyway, or projects that compete with existing businesses, it's an asset. If there's no tangible NET growth in the economy as a result of collecting and channeling that portion of your sales tax dollars, a community may as well use those sales taxes for roads, parks, etc.
I think 10:17AM and Denney Crane need to get a room at one of those fancy Wise County hotels y'all have now.
Maybe Wordbile would join in - he might even bring some chili rellenos if you axe him nicely.
Now, I'm not sayin' where y'all should put such chili rellenos, but I think y'all can figger it out, bein' the repugli-neocons that y'all are.
