"Don't Taze Me, Bro!"

I'm equally disturbed and amused by this mouthy college student and his treatment. This was all over the news this morning, but this clip gives you the full picture. And his foreshadowing line of, "Don't taze me, bro!" comes near the end. Followed by schoolgirl-like screams as the bro did, in fact, taze him. (Background: John Kerry speech at the University of Florida. Warning: A couple of F bombs.) Edit: I just heard on WBAP that the kid was "charged with resisting arrest with violence - a felony." Puuuuuleeeeezzzeeee. Edit #2: Shorter version with a different angle here.

liberal weenies don't like it when they get protested.

Yup a great example of something that happens to someone who tries to proove a good point in this GD country. He wasn't saying anything offensive, just asking some real questions instead of the government cover up b/s and there's what happens.
That guy needs to collect video and get a good lawyer.

1:42, Move to Cuba.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help...

That video makes me want to go out and key even more cop cars now.

Anybody out there that isn't noticing how fascist this country is becoming wasn't alive 50 years ago. Let's take History out of the public schools. We are not learning from the past.

That's funny. A professional war protester being protested by a journalism student war protester.

1:45, uhhhh, Cuba restricts free speech and is a dictatorship. I'm a bit confused. Are you:

1) Telling him/her to go to Cuba to fight the good fight and help spread democratic freedoms?

2) Telling him/her to go to Cuba and say these things so they can be thrown in a jail for an indefinite sentence?

3) Ignorant.

And just as I posted that comment I had a call from the Texas State Troopers Association soliciting (extorting) money. Kinda scary folks.

Denney Crane said...

He was asked to finish but didn't.

He was asked to step away and didn't.

He was politely escorted from the podium and resisted.

He was forcefully escorted and resisted.

He resisted going outside so he fell to the ground.

He resisted being handcuffed with 4 officers trying to restrain him.

What part of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest do you not understand? I guess if they would have just broken his arms to handcuff him instead of using a tazor he would have gotten off easier...

2:42, I'm telling you and her to move to Cuba if you don't like it here and then put a 54 Chevy on a raft and try to make it back here when you and Michael Moore have had enough dictatorship.

Arrest without reading his miranda rights? Smells like a loss on the cops side..

Anonymous said...

Plus he wasn't offered his one phone call.

Denney Crane said...

I would love to see what one single bouncer would have done to this guy at a bar on 6th Street...
He would be begging to get Taz'd...

Seldom (if ever) do I agree with Denny Crane, but he is right on point in this case. The right to ask a question at an assembly is NOT the right to make a speech. There were reasonable time restrictions, which he violated, rambling on endlessly. When asked to step away for about the 3rd time, his response was that he had two MORE questions (questions? - or 2 more endless rambling speeches).

Security had the absolute right to remove him at that point. I don't care WHAT your politics are.

Except for the guy's girlfriend, I am told that the rest of the audience was laughing at him as he "screamed like a girl". THEY could tell he had behaved like an imbecile and was getting just what he deserved.

This isn't much different than the morons on "Cops" type shows, who try to outrun the law.

I hear that his "friends" are holding a protest. I hope the sensible students there hold a "he got what he deserved" counter-protest.

He was a nut, in my opinion, who believed in conspiracy theories. It seemed like he didn't want Kerry to answer, he just wanted everyone to listen to what he had to say. He just kept going. That, however, is no reason to tazer him. He wasn't presenting a danger to the rent-a-cops. He was just outraged that they wouldn't let him take over the speaking engagement with his crazy questions. (Or are they true? Spooooky!)

Texas Penal Code states:
§ 42.05. DISRUPTING MEETING[0] OR PROCESSION. (a) A person
commits an offense if, with intent to prevent or disrupt a lawful
meeting[0], procession, or gathering, he obstructs or interferes with
the meeting[0], procession, or gathering by physical action or verbal
utterance.
(b) An offense under this section is a Class B misdemeanor.

I believe that was what the guys intent was.

I think he needed to be arrested, gagged, tazed, and what ever else it took to the shut the goober up. I hate people that have their minds made up that everyone else has time to listen to them rattle on about crap.
I know other weirdos like him that I'd like to see tazed, arrrested and throw away the key.

He was a journalism student. He knew that this would be broadcast on the internet and this would launch his career with all the alphabet drive by media. What better way to get a job than to denounce your country.

M&M said...

I don't think some of you boneheads watched the video. The guy was not protesting Kerry, he was in Kerry's corner and a supporter. He wanted to know why Kerry conceded on the day of the election and why he hasn't impeached Bush.

Maybe he did give too much info about that book prior to his first question, but as soon as they cut the microphone he was walking away and they came after him and grabbed him. Why? Why not just let him walk away? He got his three questions out, they cut the microphone, then just let him walk away. There was no need to physically grab him.

Anon 3:57 That does not apply to him because he was not trying to prevent, obstruct or interfere with the meeting. He was participating in the meeting during a question & answer portion.

To 3:03--Miranda rights have NOTHING with getting arrested. It is only required to read someone "his/her Miranda rights" if the police are going to question them about something while they're being held in custody. No questioning going on here. Just trying to restrain someone who resisted.

Eminem, If he was in Kerry's corner, why was he asking him about Skull and Bones? If you pinheads don't understand this guy is your typical Moveon.org, Dailkos, Cindy Sheehan kook, you have another thing coming.

John Kerry, who served in Vietnam, condemned the arrest but did not put up any of Theresa's money to bail him out of jail. He said he could have handled the situation, right after he releases his military medical records, and after he voted for the war before he voted against it.

Anonymous said...

He was a Kerry plant put there to detract attention away from the things spilling off Kerry's forked tongue.

We send our kids to college so that they can become their own person - yes, journalism material and if you ask me, he asked some pretty common ground questions - has anyone read that book?? I'm still waiting for the answers...

Hopefully - someone will repeat the questions another time another place - We'll see what happens then,.

Denney: I saw the three different videos this morning on the internet and still think he would have been fine if left alone after cutting off the microphone. And why wouldn't anyone ever explain what they wanted him to do or why they were aprehending him.

Ban Tazers! Just go back to billy clubs and .38's. I guarantee morons like this would shut there effing mouths the first time the cop told them to.

Can we hire these rent-a-cops to patrol a Jacksboro City Council/Jack County Commissioners Court meeting? We have some that are just asking for a tazer.
Hey, maybe we can have bond election and buy some more tazers for everyone.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
In an attempt to keep people from looking illiterate in their REAL lives the correct word is "think" and NOT "thing" when using the phrase, "If you think that, you have another think coming." The phrase means, "You are mistaken and will soon have to rethink and alter your opinion".

I ONLY mention the correction because I have seen the error in NUMEROUS comments.

You're Welcome.

Incidentally, I think the faux cops should have DOUBLE TAZED the annoying little twit at the Kerry gathering and perhaps just for good measure sent a taze in the direction of John Kerry aka Herman Munster.

Mzchef, Sorry to have to correct you since it's your job to correct other people on this blog, but nowhere did I say "If you think that, then you have another thing coming." Please go back and reread it and you will clearly see your mistake. You're welcome.

Brace yourself for a bold lettered comeback. We've excited her with something to reply to.

Please note that my "Public Service Announcement" was NOT address to a specific comment.

However, the statement of "If you pinheads don't understand this guy is your typical Moveon.org, Dailkos, Cindy Sheehan kook, you have another thing coming." at 5:06 most assuredly appears as though its nexus is the phrase, "If everyone doesn't think the facts are what they are, everyone has another think coming." and the word "THING" was misused in the phrase.

Hey! I understand there are people out in the world who are unable to recognize they made an error. I am sure those people have accepted their plight in life and stumble along being ignorant.

I hope my bringing to light the COMMON error made helps OTHERS avoid making the same mistake as the one made at 5:06.

Mzchief helps the world through her blogging. Too bad, it is the only place she must feel useful. Go ahead mzchief, call me ignorant, but I just go off the facts of what you write. You wrote your comments to show how great thou are and belittle someone, but all you do is come off like, well you know. By all means that is your right, but don't fault people for calling you out on it.

9:54, Let me get this straight, you're hating on Mzchief because she's more intelligent and more accomplished than you and not embarassed to let us know she's all that and a bag of chips? Are all the folks from Wise county as insecure and as big of a freakin' jealous crybaby as you? I've seen a lot of things in my life but hating on someone because they're intelligent is about as low as it gets.

Anonymous said...

1:07:

First, I am not from Wise County. Second, I am highly educated; just not in English. So, neither argument is valid in this case.

The simple truth is she feels the need to point out everyone’s faults during discussions on the topic at hand. Take for instance this blog. Everyone is discussing the blog in some manner, granted not with the grammar intelligence of a legal document, but well enough to convey their opinion. She wants to stop the discussion to point out a grammar mistake, so she can show people how much she reigns over them. If she was a guy, I would accuse her of a small man’s complex, but I’ll just go with insecure.

I truly do not mind her comments, but she needs to prepare herself for what is coming her way instead of acting like a Princess that deserves no ill will. Mzchief intelligence is not the question or the problem, but instead how she thinks that makes her better than anyone else is the issue.

See that trap door, yep, I feel into it.

3:03, Sorry, I'm still a bit confused by your stellar rhetoric and grammar in your follow up post.

1) Judging by your use of "her", I understand that you have ascertained by some unknown means the gender of the previous anonymous post from 1:42. Kudos.

2) Additionally, by such use of the pronoun "her" and the subsequent appearance of Michael Moore as the subject of this aforementioned pronoun, you have revealed to us all that Michael Moore is in fact a woman.

3) Now, perhaps the second use of "you" in your sentence was referring to the party of myself and the anonymous poster. Perfectly understandable. But this does lead us to another revelation of yours: Michael Moore is currently living in Cuba. Amazing that we have not heard this reported on any major media outlet. Thanks, once again, for enlightening us all. Or perhaps you are confused about the events that surrounded his last documentary "Sicko". He took a boat and tried to get to the U.S. Guantanamo Base on Cuba. Which is part of the island of Cuba, but not the Country of Cuba, and this perpetually leased land is considered a U.S. territory. This was a purposely futile flashy hollywood attempt to get U.S. citizens proper medical care that "terrorists" were receiving for free at the base.

Finally... Cuba. Commies. Commie Liberals. As some form of attempted slur. In 2007. Are we still talking about the commie threat and the Red Scare? In 21st century America? Seriously?

Have you no sense of decency sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?

3:03 PM"

A little known fact by the generel public is, miranda does not have to be read when arresting someone. You only have to read it when the suspect is questioned about a specific offense. It is best to read it at the time of arrest, but not required by any law.

I do NOT pretend to not read the comments. Typically, when I no longer respond it is because I have said what I wanted to say and do not feel compelled to belabour the point and respond to every cretinous retort. The fact of the matter is that MOST of the time when I have stopped responding, the people who continue to remark look like idiots WITHOUT my assistance.

As for having been put in my place, you are mistaken. My ORIGINAL comments at 9:54 and 8:54 are still correct. If people take offense to the comments I make that is THEIR problem not mine. I find it EXTEMELY humourous that I have the ability to annoy and outrage soooo many people just by posting MY comments on The Blog.

The people who invest the effort and emotion to have the hate on for me TRULY do not understand that I do NOT care what they or ANYONE other than those people whom I love and love me think about me. Pesonally, I do not hate or dislike ANYONE who comments on The Blog. You people mean NOTHING in my life and for the most part lack the ability to influence me in ANY manner. You do not seem to understand, I love being me and believe MOST people are who and what they are because of THEIR choices. I also believe that MOST people frequently make HORRIBLE choices and do so out of ignorance, sloth, greed or envy and because of such are truly pathetic creatures. So no, I have NOT been put in my place by ANYONE because I KNOW my place and ENJOY the place I am at in MY life.

Get a grip, this is ONLY a blog on the Interweb.

Incidentally, I do not "act" like a "Princess" I AM an EMPRESS in my EMPIRE.

Princesses are typically only concerned with their comforts and whims. An Empress is certainly concerned with having her whims and comfort attended to however, an Empress always puts first her duty to provide for the interests and the well-being of those for whom she is responsible and attend to her whims and comfort. An empress frequently makes decisions that are NOT always what SHE wants but are in the best interest of those within her EMPIRE. Incidentally, there are far more princesses in the world than there are empresses but there are MANY empresses out and about without our tiaras and entourages.
