Vs. Stay And Die?

If I hear Bush or any other Republican Talking Head say "Cut and Run" one more time, I think my head will blow up. Iraq is a debacle.

"Cut and run" bothers you? You're worried about semantics?

Clinton's "cut and run" strategy in Somalia emboldened Islamic terrorists, according to Osama bin Laden in a 1998 interview. That worked out great, didn't it?

And how is the war in Iraq a "debacle" as compared to other wars? Wars have always had snafus and mistakes. I suspect your description is based on your disagreeing with the origins of the war.

Your position is the reason I oppose Liberals so vigorously: They can get me killed.

AMEN!

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Oliver North tell then President Ronald Reagan in a National Security meeting ...

"Osama Bin Laden" is the Most dangerous man in the world and needs eliminated"? ....

And Ronnie did what ... "Cut and Run"?

The liberals mantra besides cut and run is "Where is Osama bin Laden?" My question is where is Hitler or Tojo?

Barry is gay what do you expect from him

You bet, so now we are taking advice from whom? HENRY KISSENGER!!!, the guy who advised the US how to "win" in Viet Nam!!!
Don't miss 60 min this coming Sunday, even more revelations to be presented!!!!

8:27 You asked, so I'll correct you: You're wrong. Oliver North never said that. It's an urban legend.

No, Ollie North didn't say that. But Reagan was funding Bin Laden as a "freedom fighter."

And for the record, ... for those of you who don't know ... Hitler and Tojo are gone because of the actions taken by FDR (the most "liberal" president in history) and Harry Truman ... both fine and responsible Democrats.

Do ya'll recall what Reagan did when terrorist bombed the barracks in Lebanon? He cut and ran and invaded Granada. Well, at least Reagan used enough force to get that job done, unlike the poor preparation and execution this administration did in Iraq. And please recall that our government DID support bin Laden in his war with the USSR and Saddam in his war with Iran. We supported and supplied them! That's why we believed Saddam had WMDs - because we supplied them to him!

The moral might be: be careful which thugs you support today, 'cause they might be fighting against you tomorrow.

Clinton Administration’s Record on Terrorism (although he might have screwed up with Somalia, he did a lot better than Bushco):

Developed the nation's first anti-terrorism policy, and appointed first national coordinator of anti-terrorist efforts.

Clinton Administration stopped the Al Qaeda millennium hijacking and bombing plots.

Clinton Administration stopped the planned attack to kill the Pope

Clinton Administration stopped the planned attack to blow up 12 U.S. jetliners simultaneously

Clinton Administration stopped the planned attack to blow up UN Headquarters

Clinton Administration stopped the planned attack to blow up FBI Headquarters

Clinton Administration stopped the planned attack to blow up the Israeli Embassy in Washington

Clinton Administration stopped the planned attack to blow up Boston airport

Clinton Administration stopped the planned attack to blow up Lincoln and Holland Tunnels in NY

Clinton Administration stopped the planned attack to blow up the George Washington Bridge

Clinton Administration stopped the planned attack to blow up the US Embassy in Albania

-- Tried to kill Osama bin Laden and disrupt Al Qaeda through preemptive strikes (efforts denounced by the G.O.P.).

-- Brought perpetrators of first World Trade Center bombing and CIA killings to justice.

-- Did not blame Bush I administration for first World Trade Center bombing even though it occurred 38 days after Bush left office. Instead, worked hard, even obsessively -- and successfully -- to stop future terrorist attacks.

--Named the Hart-Rudman commission to report on nature of terrorist threats and major steps to be taken to combat terrorism.

-Clinton Administration sent legislation to Congress to TIGHTEN AIRPORT SECURITY. (Remember, this is before 911) The legislation was defeated by the Republicans because of opposition from the airlines.

-Clinton Administration sent legislation to Congress to allow for BETTER TRACKING OF TERRORIST FUNDING. It was defeated by Republicans in the Senate because of opposition from banking interests.

-Clinton Administration sent legislation to Congress to add tagents to explosives, to allow for BETTER TRACKING OF EXPLOSIVES USED BY TERRORISTS. It was defeated by the Republicans because of opposition from the NRA.

-Clinton Administration increased the military budget by an average of 14 per cent, reversing the trend under Bush I.

-Clinton Administration tripled the budget of the FBI for counterterrorism and doubled overall funding for counterterrorism

-Clinton Administration detected and destroyed cells of Al Qaeda in over 20 countries

-Clinton Administration created national stockpile of drugs and vaccines including 40 million doses of smallpox vaccine.

-Of Clinton Administration's efforts says Robert Oakley, Reagan Ambassador for Counterterrorism: "Overall, I give them very high marks" and "The only major criticism I have is the obsession with Osama"

-Paul Bremer, current Civilian Administrator of Iraq disagrees slightly with Robert Oakley as he believed the Clinton Administration had "correctly focused on bin Laden.

-Barton Gellman in the Washington Post put it best, "By any measure available, Clinton Administration left office having given greater priority to terrorism than any president before him" and was the "first administration to undertake a systematic anti-terrorist effort"

Say 10:28, we never really found any evidence of Hitler's body, did we? Those godless commies claimed to have a fragment of his skull but you know one can never trust those vodka swilling people.

"anonymous" 11:01: You waste your bandwidth. Besides not being relevant to the topic, nearly all those "successes" were either a) Failures; or b) were implemented by entities other than the Clinton administration.

Example: The Clinton "anti-terrorism policy" treated terrorism as a law-enforcement issue, including disclosure, which meant informants and witnesses were identified to al Qaeda, including bin Laden. This caused understandable reluctance in others who might have otherwise helped us.

Example: The plot to kill the Pope and bomb jetliners was thwarted because Phillipine police tortured a suspect, got information, and informed the United States. Also, a fire in the apartment of the plotters disrupted their plans.

Example: The millenium bombing was foiled by an alert border guard, not as a result of any policy by the Clinton administration.
