mzchief, You're from RAB. Why do you think RAB police have this reputation?

Anonymous said...

They have the reputation honestly. It's one road through town, sort of like in the Old West when the wagon train had to cut through one canyon or cross the river at a certain point. RAB is corrupt physically and morally, but by God at least you know you're not going to be creamed by a car going 56 mph.

Actually, I am not "from RAB", I am from England. I have for the past 20 years owned a home in RAB. It is my understanding that the speed limit is vigorously enforced to the extent that a driver will not receive a citation unless they are exceeding the posted speed limit by five or more miles. I am truly pleased to know that unlike other communities in Wise County that the law in RAB is enforced regardless of a person’s relationship with members of the city council or law enforcement officers. I would bet a dollar to a dime that EVERY RAB officer would indeed ticket their own mother for speeding.

You have NO idea the amount of spitting and moaning that is engaged in by the "wanna be big dogs" who get busted by an officer who really could care less "WHO" the "wanna be big dog" thinks they are or may know.
I LOVE IT!

As for the officers of RAB being corrupt, you are WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! The law enforcement officers in RAB are among the BEST anywhere. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the ethics and character of ALL members of the current and past city councils. The new Mayor seems to be on the ball and sincere in wanting to improve RAB which is a far cry from some of the crooked/brain dead good old boys who have previously held the position.

Mz, You make some pertinent observations and prvide some personal opinion. I did not see the deleted posts but you must have enflamed someone!

I contest that there is no good ole boyism with the recent past police dept. Reference how a local with spouse who worked at the City seems to have had his DUI stop dissappear.

As for speeding, gee, the limit in RAB is 55 on 380 while it's 40 or 45 in Bridgeport where the road is 4-lane and divided. If you can't keep it to 55 for the 2 miles thru RAB you're in just too much of a hurry.
