Football Preview Issue

The Messenger sent a proposed ad over to our law firm for the high school football preview issue that read: "Good Luck To All Wise County Football Teams." After years of seeing silly slogans like that, we finally drew the line. Our ad will instead read, "May All Your Wildest Dreams Come True." Seriously. I feel better already.

what's so funny about that? it's really pretty lame if you ask me. couldn't come up with something better to say to the football players than, "may all your wildest dreams come true?"

My first choice was something like:
Yes, it's Football season, but not to late to still get a life!
.....
Brock

...not too late....
Sorry

so why do you think they don't have a life just b/c they play football? how much of a life do you have being a lawyer? isn't your life pretty much consumed by law and helping others? so how's football any different? what are our kids supposed to do in school besides homework? PE? yeah right..

Here is my genius suggestion. No charge or pro bono in your nomenclature.

Smith&Green
-numbchuck skills
-bowhunting skills
-computer hacking skills

Barry Green (dressed as Napoleon)
"Back in '82, I used to be able to throw a pigskin a quarter mile."

Brock Smith (dressed as Pedro)
"Brock offers you his protection."

Let's hope for a great season for all the football teams and while we're at it..let's VOTE FOR PEDRO!!

Correction..Barry is dressed up as Uncle Rico and Brock as Napoleon.

It sounds like an ad for Spring Break instead of football.

What with high school kids being inundated on the airwaves with things like "Girls Gone Wild" videos, maybe your ad should have a disclaimer on the bottom that reads:

"At least on the football field, anyway..."

Otherwise, wildest dreams could mean a lot of things!

You two guys will be considered substantial members of society when you buy an ad. in the Astonisher supporting the Math team, Science team, One-act play, etc. Of course, I never heard anyone ever performing a play called "Shoot and Run".

I think the ad should read: "Football. It's better than a swift kick to mzchief's fat ass. But not by much."
