A good part of those stock options are Halliburton stock. Halliburton stock has risen from approximately $20.00 a share when Bush/Cheney took office, to approximately $70.00. Halliburton got all kinds of contracts to do work, provide food service in Iraq, all without bidding. They have billed our government for over $290 million dollars for goods/services not provided and/or over the original bid. All the while, oil prices are at an all time high. I don't think history will judge the Bush/Cheney administration very favorably. It will probably be seen as one of the most inept, corrupt in recent times.

I agree about the corruption, however this administration will say, "it's about the economy" - of course - look how many jobs a war always provides.

And we keep on and on and on.

While our kids die on the battlefield.

So sad.

I don't blame you for your admiration of these great men. They are certainly charitable and pay their taxes. Mr. Chaney seems to be a wise investor as well. We need more successful leaders of this type.

.....like we need a hole in the head.

Looks like Cheney gave over 3/4 of his income to charity.

But what charities?

Charities can cover a lot of worthwhile as well as worthless causes.

Instead of wondering what charities Cheney gave his income to, why not ask WHERE that income came from? It came from skyrocketing Halliburton stock prices. Then the second questions needs to be, WHY that stock escalated? The answer is the Iraq war. Those "charitable" contributions have the blood of our men and women soldiers all over it. Mr. Cheney IS NOT a successful investor, he's a WARMONGER who saw a golden opportunity for Halliburton once we got into war. God forbid and save us all if we have another administration like this one. We are only beginning to start reaping what this administration has sown.

Go apply for the job instead of complaining about how much people make. What about the good folks of Wise County who make huge dollars by doing nothing other than living on top of natural gas.

Lot of Wise County businesses and people that are being directly and indirectly supported by these high prices and the situation in the Middle East. Want to really make a statement? Stop accepting business from anyone in Wise County that is connected at all the the Barnett Shale or rock hauling or any business or person working for any business that has seen a rise in business from all that. That activity is tied to these issues, and Wise County is a huge beneficiary...the schools, the shops, the new retail...you are all in bed with the administration on it; so don't bitch too much while you're sucking on the teat.
