Saber Rattling

In my lifetime, I don't think I've ever seen more vocal threats than those coming from Iran these days. From threatening the annihilation of Israel, testing super torpedoes, to staging a made-for-TV-broadcast this week that they are on their way to creating a nuclear weapon. And today comes news they are threatening the U.S. of consequences if we take actions to prevent Iran's nuclear proliferation. Scary stuff.

Yes it is scary and hopefully our President will take a tough stand and inject some diplomacy into the situation.

If he can.

If he will.

You used President and diplomacy in the same sentence?

Hopeful 1:51 - hopeful!

Hopefully, if and when it happens, he won't be our President anymore.

I am certain that the liberal thoughts are to let the United Nations handle the problem. They are every bit as effective as a French war effort.

I'd like to see Israel take some pre-emptive action and solve the problem for them and the U.S. I know the palestinians and muslims won't like it, but too bad. Israel has to look out for their own interests. And they can militarily handle it.

Oh those who continue to believe a nation can solve its problems by bombing the heck out of another. Folks, it just doesn't work. (Anyone remember the "shock and awe campaign in Iraq that was to so impress them that they would greet us as liberators?). Bombs alone just don't cut it. And as big a mess that Iraq has become, Iran is a much bigger challenge.

Diplomacy and mutual international agreements are the only viable course. And this will probably require a different administration in DC.

Iran is not going to stop their nuclear program through diplomacy. They have the backing of China and Russia, they don't care what we say. But I'm sure our intelligence along with Israel's intelligence knows where the nuclear work is being done. They do know it is under ground. Strategic bombing can take it out. Israel has done it before.
