Oh, Have Times Changed

"Nearly half of Americans believe their government should mind its own business internationally and only one third approves of how US President George W. Bush is handling Iraq, a USA Today/CNN/Gallup poll says." "Bush's rating, which rose from 32 percent in September to 39 percent in the ensuing months, has fallen back to 32 percent in the latest survey, the USA Today/CNN/Gallup poll said." (Story)

Geepers,,I guess no one has heard of the USDA wanting to place the regulation NAIS as yet. If you haven't heard of it, check it out on the USDA website, then hit NAIS. Sad state of affairs it is!

I am certainly appreciative of elected leaders who have a thought process beyond what some rediculous poll has to say this week. Isolationism from the field of foreign affairs has historically been ineffective. In fact, we certainly want the world exposed to our thoughts on self government and other topics.

People are fickle, aren't they. If something is right, stick with it. If not, be against it. But make up your mind.

or maybe they have been bamboozled long enough and are finally seeing the true nature of the beast.

For those with short memories: it was Bush who was OPPOSED to "nation building" in the 2000 election. He was the isolationist. Talk about your flip-floppers!! This guy was in big trouble before 9/11 and used that event to whip up artificial support. Yes, many of the bamboozled are finally waking up.

It appears it's time for Bush to find another war to whip up more support. When do you suppose Bush will fake up a need to attack Iran? Before the fall elections, maybe?

Bush never has and never will be an isolationist. That is what bothers the terrorists and their regimes that support them.

5:06, Please refer to numerous statements by Bush during the campaign vs. Gore. Bush constantly stated that he was not for "nation building" i.e. getting involved in problems like Kosovo. At the time of that election, Bush had only traveled to a very few countries (Mexico and Canada among them). He expressed very little interest in foreign affairs.

You may attempt to rewrite history but the facts are there. Check it out.
