Civil v. Criminal

A lawyer friend of mine in Decatur who I refuse to name (Allen Williamson) sent me this video clip from youtube.com. It appears to involve a deposition of an expert witness being conducted by the very famous Texas lawyer named Joe Jamail (you can see his name on one end of the UT football field - which you, too, can get if you'll donate a ton of cash. But, based upon the photo, you won't have anything left over to buy some new shoes). But back to the video: If you thought civil law was more civil than criminal law, guess again. Hello, WWF. This is great stuff. And I hate guys like Jamail.

Good Lord! Is this what I'm going to be subjected to? I'm re-thinking this whole law school notion. As for the difference between civil and criminal - I already figured that one out. Of course people are going to get more pissed about civil litigation - money makes the world go round and the blood pressure boil.

What do you call 100 lawyers chained together at the bottom of the ocean?

I've been told that it would be a good start.

Lawyers wear neckties to hold the FORESKIN back!

I'd have jumped over that table and laid out the SOB. Is this the way lawyers talk to people during depositions? I'm glad I'm a law-abiding nobody. Lawyers! At their best, they're no damn good for anybody, much less the culture we live within.

What, because of an incident like this, you HATE ALL lawyers? I work with the Wise County attorney's. They are professional and work hard for their clients. As long as there is crime and disfunction, we will have attorney's. They are doing there jobs, just like you and I.

I love this Barry, but I don't think you could hang with these guys. Stick with your defense pratice with push over Cude or lake buddy Fostel. There is no shame in playing AA ball and riding Brocks reputation.

Disgusting display of bad manners and foul mouths.

Not sure why this was even put on here. It certainly doesn't add to any respect for lawyers.

Pathetic!

I have never agreed with William Shakespeare's line from Henry the VI; "...first, kill all the lawyers..." However, this video makes it clear a few of them need to be horse whipped. These bozos prove the point that having a higher education and higher income does not assure higher character.

Well, all I can say is that I would definitely want a strong advocate in my corner were I to need one, although I doubt all of them are as passionate as Joe Jamail... he's certainly done SOMETHING to be so successful...

Right on 10:21 - and graduating from law school at the top of one's class doesn't bring higher character either.

To the person that works for the Wise County Attorney's....there is no freaking apostophe. It's just attorneys. It's a plural, not a possessive. My Ga'wd, whats wrong wit'h thi's coun't'ry'.

The use of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation is a lost art or we must have the most poorly educated people here in Wise County.

11:41 - I don't work FOR them, I work WITH them. Big Difference. How about you stick with the topic. Why are you rude?
