Katie Couric will announce tomorrow that she is leaving the Today Show to become anchor of the CBS Evening News.
Random Thoughts:
(1) The only person that watches any of the network evening news shows anymore is me because I, in my own nerd sort of way, TIVO one of them.
(2) That's a lot of cash.
(3) Whenever she does a "hard news" interview on the Today Show, she reads the questions like she has no idea what she is asking.
(4) She is still hot.
(5) I still feel sorry for her due to her husband dying several years ago.
(6) I will switch to Good Morning America if Ann Curry takes her spot.

She's just not a news person. Little perky Katie reading the news? Geez. And $13 mill for this?
God forbid if Ann Curry takes over her spot...I'll be a GMA watcher, too. I can't stand that creature and cringe when they turn to her for the news and she cocks her head sideways! What's that all about?
Does that mean we won't see the legs any more?
Campbell Brown is a likely replacement and her legs don't look too bad from where I'm sitting. Agree with 8:13. I just don't see Katie doing hard news as an anchor. That's not where her strength is in my opinion. Guess she was just tired of all those early morning wake up calls and she gets paid regardless of how she ends up doing. I think the people on Today have to get up around 3 in the Morning to get to work in time to have their makeup done and go over their notes for the day's show.
I think Katie is great, but Matt is still a favorite. I like Campbell Brown too, but I like Ann Curry (although I do know what ya'll are talking about). I also like Hoda or whatever her name is. I absolutely HATE ABC news local and national. They are there more for entertainment and they all look like clones of each other. CBS is even worse. Of course, FOX is out of the question! I have also recorded the Today Show before, so I know where Barry is coming from. The Today Show is one of my favorite shows. I do miss Tom Brokaw though.
Meredith Vieira of the daytime chat show “The View” is on the list of replacments....I like her.
