Hee hee....he's going to end up back in the hospital with heart problems again if he's not careful.

..good character shot Parcells.............

......you are almost matching Vince Lombardi....

He is turning into the Woody Hayes of professional football, he just has more sense than to hit a player.

As Napoleon Dynamite would say "Idiot!"

Does anyone know why he hit him?

9:21, does it really matter? This type of conduct is inexcusable. When I looked at the video, it looked like the guy standing next to the guy that got hit says, "He's crazy" right after the first guy was hit. He is crazy. He ought to be fined, suspended, etc. There should be consequences for this type of behavior.

9:41, on one hand, I agree with you. On the other human side of that hand, the guy looked like he was interrupting Parcells, and hey, we've all had that moment--"Get the h*&$ AWAY from me!!"

9:41: The one that will get fined (or fired) is the guy that got pushed. Jerry does not have the balls to stand up to "Sardine".

I totally agree that it doesn't matter and I also think that he should be fined. I just thought it would be funny to know why he was acting like such a jackass.

I agree with 9:41 - that behavior IS inexcusable - another good example of sportsmanship for our young folks?

Very disappointing behavior from Parcells.

No they should not fine him. If Parcells was hitting the coach of another team he should be fined. He was probably saying something or doing something that Parcells had specifically told him not to do, and probably deserved to get hit.

Besides, he didn't even hit him that hard. If he is going to be a puss about that then he needs to coach figure skating or something else besides football.

PARCELLS SUCKS said...

I think that if anyone needs to be hit it is Jerry Jones!! for keeping Parcells as long as he has. The Cowgirls could be a good team but Parcells is a jackass and for some reason can not coach like he used to!! Lets trade the crappiest quarterback in the NFL for the next to crappiest!! That was a great idea??

It doesn't matter if it was one of his coaches or another teams coach, no one has a right to hit anyone. That type of behavior is not professional at all, even if it is football.

"no one has a right to hit anyone"

It is a football game for god’s sake. Most you guys on here are real wussies He didn't get hit hard, he probably had is nose were it didn't belong, Parcells is not a bad coach (not agreat coach like he used to be), Bledsoe is not a bad QB (not a great one like Troy or Montana). It's a game that people get paid a shit load to play, take it for what it's worth.

It wasn't the nicest thing to do, but fines are dumb and are jokes to the millionaire coaches and players that pay them. People saw a glimpse of Parcells when he got extremely angry...he doesn't handle it so well. But I'm sure he sent the Asst. coach a big fruit basket this morning to say he was sorry. :)

I am with BigCatDaddy on this one.

You didn't expect a Tom Landry did you?

It doesn't matter how hard Parcells hit that guy and it doesn't matter if your a wuss or not. Parcells absolutely should not have hit his assistant. No matter what. It sets a terrible example. But most of all, it shows a total lack of civility. They are on the same side. Football is a business, but there is a reason they call it a game. It shows a total lack of class. He should be punished.

If he was "saying something or doing something that Parcells specfically told him not to do", so what? He did'nt "deserve to get hit". How moronic. He deserved to be treated like an adult, not a three year old. I'll bet all these people who think this was OK would feel different if they had been on the receiving end. He did not "deserve" to get hit. Parcells deserves to be punished. It's not about how hard he was hit, it's the fact that he was hit at all and that this behavior could ever be acceptable.

It doesn't matter if it is football or brain surgery. How many people here would accept having their boss slug them even if their "nose was where it didn't belong" or "they were doing something the boss had told them not to do."? Personally, I have too much self respect to every tolerate ANYONE striking me.

NEWS FLASH!
It is NEVER appropriate for a supervisor to slug a subordinate, peer and/or superior!

ANOTHER News Flash!
It is NEVER appropriate for ANYONE to put their hands on another person in frustration or anger.

As for what should happen to the "coach"; that is up to his boss to decide. Jerry is too much of a sleaze ball to be able to ever comprehend the concepts of dignity and class that he is oblivious to the need to do anything to an out of control "PROFESSIONAL" Football Coach.

i wonder if we will see this on the bridgeport sideline as this coaching staff keeps get outcoached every week.

bigcatdaddy said...

Most(not all) professional athletes and coaches ceased to be good examples years ago....so that argument is null and void. Yes, I know it shouldn't be this way, but it is. I'm afraid its not going to get any better.

11:39 makes a good point, though the thread went local - the talk in Bridgeport IS that the coaching staff is "outcoached" every week....

.....and speaking of bad behaviors, some fans overheard the coaching staff at Bridgeport/Decatur game cursing....

...what kind of example does that set for high school athletes?

.....hope that isn't true, but if so, the school board should investigate it and take the appropriate action....

bigcatdaddy said...

Get a grip, high school coaches have been cursing on the sidelines for years and you know it.

No, it doesn't set a good example, but it does prepare them for the real world where you hear bosses and co-workers cursing all the time.
