I'm sure on some level I have some agreement with Hitler but that does not mean I agree with whole scope of his very radical views. Same thing here.
It is always funny to drive by a rally and yell out hey brothers! Most of the time they all say hi back very scarily. Good thing they haven't come back to downtown Decatur--jeez, just imagine the controversy on the blog.. lol...
The proposal defines marriage as between one man and one woman. Read the entire proposal carefully. The drafters screwed up and have banned any union resembling or IDENTICAL to marriage.(emphasis added) Vote for the proposal and many of us will instantly be single again.
The US Constitution states that "Congress shall make no law abridging the right of the people to peaceably assemble"
Funny how one group can have "radical" views and another can march on Washington and just be activists.
Liberals have many beliefs. Among them are personal liberties. And that includes freedom from intolerance that many conservatives espouse. Remember that the ACLU has repeatedly defended the Klan's rights to legally assemble and express their beliefs - while not endorsing those beliefs.
Am I the only that ever questions the fact why we are born into a society, we never wanted to be born into. Into a society the forces you to obey laws, which the government does not obey. Am I the only one that sits here day after day feeling like a subservient brainwashed monkey for having to listen to Bush's antics on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. Who rules the rulers? It makes you think about the whole checks and balances system, what if they are corrupt? Why do people think that their government will take care of all their needs? They continue living their daily lives without a worry. Almost like our government is perfect or something. I am tired of people that base our government off of the bible. It may be partly based on Christianity, but like everything else our government must be a huge sinner. And just like a murderer about to be put to death he is forgiven on his death bed, to have himself "saved" so he can go to heaven, that is what our government reminds me of. You may question the fact. Why don't you just leave? Well. It is not that easy, I would rather act like our forefathers and protest against the corruption and the demoralization of our society. Why run, when we can protest peacefully without violence-letting the government show how callous it is.

How could anyone agree with Hitler in any way or support the gathering of a group notorious for their messages of hate? There is no superior race, and it is sooo funny that the KKK will get out there to bash gay marriage when they spew such ridiculous doctrine. Sin is sin...and they are some of the hugest hypocrites alive. The sight of their prepostorous "costumes" are enough to yank the "peace" out of "peacefully assemble". They should NOT be allowed to be there at our state's capitol.

Please note those "prepostorous (sic) costumes" you mention are copies of typical Catholic monks in the middle ages. You can't decide which constitutional provisions we should selectively apply to which groups. The law is the law.
By the way, how does it affect you if some citizens want to live together with the rights and responsibilities of married people? You don't have to endorse their arrangement, copy it or like it. But why shouldn't they "pursue happiness" in their own independent manner?
Why are so many upset with gays getting married? Following is quote from Al Franken:
"George W. Bush wants to amend our Constitution to make it illegal for gays to marry. But evidently, he has no problem with terrorists getting married. America can't afford a president who is soft on terrorist marriage. Because unlike gays, terrorists can breed."
I despise franken, but he is right.
Well, it is about time all those people living together in sin have all their rights taken away from them. No more common law marriage! Shame on em.
Every parent who is sick and tired of their kids moving in together needs to round up Grannie, Grandpa, the Klan, the holy rollers and get to the polls on November 8th and vote for Proposition 2.
And all those shacker upers can figure out when they split, who gets the china, silver and kids!
It is a culture war going on here. The issue is common law marriage cause there is already a law keeping two male ducks from getting married!
Next constitution amendment needs to be to keep people married. Can only divorce for cause, after waiting for five years.
Then after that, start stoning the women who committ adultery in the middle of town square.
Now I'm not a liberal. It is time we have real Biblical marriages in Texas!
Anon @ 1:38...thanks for the FYI regarding Catholic monks attire being what the Klan fashions their "outfits" out of. If I were part of the Catholic church, I'd be a little upset at how their seemingly once holy robes have become such a symbol of ignorance and hate.
