As A Kid on Sunday Night . . .

. . . nothing was better than watching wrestling on TV from the Sportatorium in Dallas. This month's Texas Monthly has an article entitled "The Last Von Erich" - retelling the story of the Lake Dallas family that has had more than it share of tragedy (four sons, three of whom have died).

it was a really good article...
my kids used to love the Von Erich's and it brought back fond memories of when they were younger.

Don't forget to read about Decatur's very own Derrick Boyd in that very same Texas Monthly. He is in there along with his law partners "Super Lawyer" Mike Simpson and Alan Powers

Didn't read that article...I just had time to read about the house bootie bill! How in the world cheerleading got so much attention in the house just blows my mind. One would think that sane representatives would try to figure out a way to finance our public schools!

No, they spent time on the bootie bill. Seems cheerleading has made its way into the Texas culture wars. The football boys can't keep their minds on the game. The uniforms are too sexy, the routines are too sexy. Cheerleaders are getting pregnant and dropping out of school. The representatives in Austin want to get cheerleaders to quit shaking their little booties!

Well, the Senate didn't see fit to take up the Bootie Bill. But a letter was sent out to the schools to keep the Cheerleaders under control!

O.K. Do we feel safer now??? Knowing our state representatives are doing their jobs. That is why we voted them into office!

Hey 9:32:

I agree that it's not worthy of the legislature but, maybe that bootie shakin' is why all those cheerleaders keep turnin up pregnant.

Ever seen the Decatur High School cheerleaders?
