A Thought

John Roberts was confirmed as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court this week after no one could find anything in his past that would make him "unfit" for the job. And in this day and time, the slightest misstep in his past would have killed his nomination. That got me to thinking. Have you really lived if you have made no mistake, committed no sin, or expressed no view that would be sufficient to prevent you from holding a national public office?

I know I couldn't do it or even want to for that matter. My life has been "colorful" But I don't think I would change a thing. Everything had a lesson and made me a better person.

(Geez can you tell I am hitting the wine)

So read my blog. No one has in days and I am getting despondent.

he has a sweet face, but his eyes are troubling - need a big dose of Murine, or that stuff the monotone guy on tv advertises for red eyes.

...surely he doesn't indulge in booze if he leads a perfect life..

.....and if he doesn't I don't trust the guy.

No. I want a judge at any level who has "lived" or made mistakes because that gives him or her the understanding and appreciation for those who stand before them to be judged.

No one is sinless or even qualified to investigate someone else for sin. But you can "live" and enjoy life without making poor choices. We are fortunate to have such a scholar who lives a life that stands up to scrutiny such as he has been exposed to.
