How many "personal fails" did Decatur have this week???
Story last battle of big sandy. At least Decatur finally won something this year - less personal fouls than their opponent. 2012 Coaching Job = Epic Fail!
DISD school board is too chicken to let Story go. Unless people start calling them at home and demanding a change they will do absolutely nothing. I'm so ashamed of our football program. Players of days gone by need to express their shame of not only the football program but of the board who will do nothing about it. Decatur Eagles used to be a powerhouse for years and years. We're not heading towards being the joke of the county or district, we are already there!
I'm shocked, just shocked that all that spending (1M+) on athletics didn't produce a winner!
Incredible spending on athletics and can't win a weak district. Incredible spending on laptops/ipads and campuses can't meet AYP.

Before you bash the academic benefits of the technology programs implemented at DISD you should also educate yourself on the the requirements of the state for AYP. There will be NO district in the state meet these guidelines as currently written, Rather than bash these people, please become involved and be a part of the solution.

You can spend all of the money in the world but if there is no buy-in from the community, parents and students then there will never be success. Why not stop bitching and complaining about everything and support your teachers in the classroom because that is really the only thing that matters for the children of the future. Exactly how many "athletes" from Decatur(Wise County even) have gone on to play professionally and made a living playing sports?
Decatur's coaching has been very, very poor this year. They have an athletic team, but they have never been ready for the game at hand. One more game and this pitiful season is over...
We need to do something to end these loses to Bridgeport.
We have a larger school and better athletes. What gives?
Decatur student atheletes have always been classless, and try to bully people around the county.. i can remember when brian gasperson and his friends jumped and beat up the quarterback from boyd "robbie cartright" and then another time when craig sampler and myka shepard and his friends tried to beat up the quarterback from bridgeport "jessie deluna" and his friend "cezar rivera" at the mcdonlds.. there a bunch of punks,, no telling how many others they tried to gang up on and tried to beat up.. and they are all athletes.. PUNKS!!! THATS ALL THEY ARE...

12:52, you probably weren't even born, but in the 60s (under Bulldog Davis as head coach) and 70s (Bob Bogue as head coach) the Decatur Eagles had many many winning seasons. No, no state championships, just consistent wins. It was nice. Even the early 80s produced some very good Eagle teams under B. Actkinson.
Good grief folks. This is just one high school ballgame. In the grand scheme of life, is it really that important? In 5 years will it be important?
Not sure why y'all keep bashing Decatur..........Alvord, paradise nor Chico hav won a district game this year.......poor Chico even after being moved to 1A they still can't win....except for the division III TAPP schools they played during pre-season. They couldnt win in volleyball this year either. Poor kids......you would think the admin would wake up and fix the problem.....but, it looks like the admin might have to be replaced as well as the problem.

One Decatur football went on to glory by selling used cars. Then went to prison , and sold more cars. He didnt need academics or turf.

It is coaching that makes the difference. A few kids with tru talent come along but it is a team sport and coaches make the difference. Sad truth is there are not very many out there that can make winning teams year after year.
I say we get field turf for our Eagles to get rid off all the excuses once and for all.
Bridgeport and Decatur rivalry vandalism has been going on for years. It is a great way to stimulate the local economy. More shoe polish is sold at allsups in one day than all year at walmart

Guess what 9:42... Chico was the only district in Wise County to meet AYP last year. Looks like their administration has the district headed in the right direction and don't put all the focus on athletics like others.

Decatur coaches are already in the top tier of 3A salaries.....and the results?
I know a guy with 30 or so years of coaching experience and a couple state titles that has some free time on his hands if Decatur needs some consultant work.
Here's a parent of an athlete's take; Decatur has soome talent. What we dont have are coaches who can recognize or coach talent. These coaches believe HS is the pinacle for their athletes. Its the end. They are not able to take these kids to the next level of their sport. When you competition can do these things the results are failure for the school, the sport and most importantly the athlete. And I'll tell you one more thing. You can apply these beliefs to acedemics as well.
10:46...I am not sure what you want applied to "acedemics" but it sure sounds like we be needin' some! Just imagine if they competition like you and had results of "acedemics" like you had. That would be "soome" good "acedemics" and those kids would reach their "pincle". Can someone tell my why Bridgeport's rankings are so low...we are near the low end for the entire state of Texas! I just don't get it. Every school but Chico was ranked above us.
