Am I The Only Guy That Didn't Hate This National Anthem Last Night?

Everybody is hating on it this morning and I just don't get it.

But I might be biased because I've purchased five songs by The Fray over the last three years which makes them the leader by a mile in my purchased music collection. Not even close. That's almost half an album I've shelled out money for!

And there's a pretty good chance I'm retiring and joining that band. I've studied the drum routine in this video very closely and I feel pretty confident, with lots of practice, that I could do that.

I liked it. At least he didn't screw the words up like so many others before him.

I didn't think it was that bad. They didn't forget the words, they sang the correct tune, they kept the proper time, and they didn't add all that ooo-ooo, oh-oh-oh, be-bop stuff

Yes -- I think you are the only one to like it.

At the start it sounded like they were using three different sets of sheet music - it didn't mesh. The guitars dominated and sounded nothing like the national anthem. The drums were useless; a drunken monkey could have done that - so yeah, go for it!
It got a little better at the end. It would have worked a cappella

I thought it was nice to hear it sung in 3/4 time, like it was written, for a change. IMHO they made it less their own than most high school students who sing it at school functions.

I couldn't even listen to it all. That is not the national anthem. It is a rendition of a similar song. The national anthem has one set of words and one set(?) of music (I am not a music major so I may be using the wrong words). But you get my meaning. Stop F***ing with national standards. If you don't like the traditional version, then sing something else or don't sing at all.

Love The Fray and thought they did a fine job last night too.

I got to agree with the old grey wolf Mike Rhyner. Horrible rendition of the national anthem, brother.

This baseball season's gonna be great with Rhyner & Williams talking about the great game as only they can do.

REPUBLICAN PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

We pledge allegiance, under God, to US bankers and to the wealth they create for Americans. We promise to give the lords of wealth our money, our souls, our lives so they might enrich themselves betting on hedge funds that raise the price of oil. We enjoy paying through the nose in order to bring prosperity to those who toil in the halls of riches. We shall always remember our beloved dollar sign flag which survived the blasts of liberals during the dark hours of 2009 when all seem lost. We promise never to vote for liberals, socialists, abortionists and any gay person. We humbly thank our Wall Street lords who toil endless hours hedging on nonexistent items that have no worth other than creating wealth for the wealthy. We will always remember it is better to do without health care or jobs or education because to devote our selves to lords of wealth is the surest path on the road to Heaven.

Amen–under God, that is!

How many jobs do poor people create? What is the earning limit you want to put on people? What rights do you want to give to babies, (none)? You always complain about the helpless, but are perfectly willing and sometimes eager to abort children at anytime during their development process. When is abortion not acceptable? I don't care if you are gay or not, just don't flaunt it and rub my nose in it. And you are damn right, I will never vote for a liberal or socialist. That is why we are in this current situation. No, it is not Bush's fault.

2:02 Yes most IS Bush's fault and Obama and Congress has continued in his inept way with no relief in site. Throw them all out, bring on reasonable term limits and campaign contribution limits.

Not as awesome as Jose Feliciano!

Not one of my favorites, but better than Rosanne Barr!

Poor people don't create jobs, they are the one taking care of your relatives at sunny hills, because you are too greedy to care for them.

Nice try, but -
Presumably, you are referring to an assisted living facility, meaning full-time care is necessary. You have to pay those "poor people" to work there; nobody does it for free. And if a person didn't pay somebody else to care for their elderly or incapacitated relative, they wouldn't be able to make a living, or be "too greedy" in your words.
