The first thing Hitler did was ban guns. I don't see it going any differently if we did the same. I wonder who would replace the Jews in this society. Probably conservatives first then loud mouthed liberals.
It never was "safe." Safety is relative. You're in more danger driving there. But your safety was an illusion. We just had a lower incidence of violence due to the saturated patrols. I'll still be taking my family there.
Of course, I'll also have a pound of prevention on my hip, as I always have.
Banning free speech, and burning books was just as bad or worse than banning firearms. Nazis may have had "socialist" in their official name, but they were extremely conservative SOB's. There was nothing liberal about them, except the liberal killing of people that spoke out against them or was not a member of the master race.
