Helicopter Delivers Game Ball. Manages Not To Kill Anyone.

yep, QB Keeper resulted in the final nail in the coffin.

EAT MORE BEEF!!

There was more than a minute left though, but you would of thought at "Bomb" went off in the stands the way all the Bullievers rushed out.

I didn't realize decatur was one of those schools/towns that show disrespect during the National Anthem by allowing their students to slap each other on the shoulder pads during the playing of our National Anthem. I'm pretty sure you are supposed to remain silent until the last note is played. Way to respect the fallen of this country. And no I'm not from Bridgeport, I was just at the game.

10:12, both. Grass IS turf.

Is that there stadium lights I see or devices used to illuminate a football field? Is that there football helmets I see or protective headgear? Is that there bleachers I see or a place for fans to sit and watch the game? Grass is turf.

Did people drive to the game in cars and trucks, or did they drive to the game in vehicles? Grass is turf.

Anonymous said...

Yes they did, while they were trying to run the score up. Just Decatur showing that great class of theirs.

It was a clean sweep of Bridgeport this week. 7th & 8th grade A & B teams won from Decatur. Freshman, JV and Varsity won from Decatur. Freshmen, JV and Varsity girls volleyball swept in straight games. Tough week for them Bulls and Sissies.

12:28 I guess you are one of those people who hold everything inn. I guess my spirit that gives me chill bumps should not do so as well. I am excited to BE A FREE AMERICAN GIVEN TO ME BY OTHER FREE AMERICANS.

My prediction was 27-13 Decatur. Didn't miss it by much.
I don't like the slapping of the shoulder pads either, happens every game. Funny thing though, if your not from Bridgeport and was a neutral observer, why didn't you mention the fiasco of raising our US flag? A US flag was not even present during the national anthem because they were to busy trying to get a Bport Bulls flag attached to fly under the US flag.
Why was the scoreboard cleared so fast? Where did all the Bulls fans/players go? Win or lose, you don't see Decatur clear the field at home in less than 5 minutes.
But..... Decatur hasn't lost this year either so that might not be a correct observation.

eat more beef and thanks to air evac for delivering the game ball

They used to wait until the last notes to slap the pads, guess they were too "fired up". Agree that the coaches should "admonish" them to be respectful. And I'm from Decatur. They ARE just kids, though.

You can't smoke turf

I'm just saying

i love this game it brings the best out of people i loved #24 doing his best to get in a fight at the end of the game. Cant win so fight is that the Bport way?

Decatur had the better team but Bridgeport fans had to wonder why this year's quarterback had so little playing experience. Last year there were many blowout wins. Why did last year's quarterback remain in the game? It appears to Bull's fans that the team agenda was sacrificed for an individual agenda. Was last year's quarterback kept in the games to fatten his stats for scholarships, post season recognition, etc.? This year's quarterback certainly could have benefited with that additional playing experience.

Yea just like some of the bport players putting there helmets on before it was over? WBA

Why is the helicopter there?

Answers? I don't know the questions. said...

Now, now Wendell, calm down. I do agree that there is no excuse for the US flag not being up. As far as the Bridgeport fans clearing out, there is a simple explanation. We had to get to Dairy Queen before it closed. Nothing like ice cream to break a depression.

11:11---and don't forget there was Cobbler and coffee at one of the churches last night! lol

blowout? this was far from a blowout. must be a bport fan

The Helicopter is for drying out the field after continuous watering during restricted watering days. Like the dryers at a NASCAR track.

Anonymous said...

It's funny how quickly these Eagle fans forget when they cleared their bleachers early last year after the bulls scored the final td to go up by 10!

It's nt going to get any bettr for Bridgeport next year. The Decatur JV team beat the B'port JV team
44-6 Thursday night. Decatur played the second strig most of the last quarter.

They are just boys whos parents should have taught them to respect the national anthem by now. Plus the coach should cut that mess out, but I'm sure he has as much class as your town seeing as he runs out in the TURF before the play is over like a mad man, to celebrate as if he has never been on the winning side of a game before. As far as no flag, face the music. As far as it taking too long to rais the flag, Decatur pd was over there fumbling over the flags too. Sorry I didn't have time to point out all of the mistakes I just focused on the one that gets under my skin. You did a great job on picking up on everything else.

If you would have purchased a program last night you would have noticed most of Bports defensive players numbers were not in it. Due to kids being sick and injured most of their JV defense played on varsity last night and most were tenth graders. So at least they are getting varsity experience this year. No excuses, The eagles will win district and go 10-0. But then the test will be on.

BG,

The team with possibly the best pitching staff in the history of baseball got knocked out of the playoffs in the first round.

What was your expert opinion about pitching again?

Please predict that the Rangers will lose.

Re: running up the score

The only purpose to high school football seems to me to be to prepare young men for war, in case of global conflagration. As such, running up the score not only does not seem to be poor sportsmanship so much as a national imperative. See, the whole reason we keep losing wars seems to be that we are unwilling to "run up the score" globally speaking. In a Darwinian world setting the stupidest thing you could do would be to not completely and totally vanquish your enemy. As such, dropping the hammer to its fullest effect is in fact the best thing to teach violently inclined young men

Decatur won the night. Congrats to them. Wish we hadn't had some really critical injuries. I'm not saying it would have changed the outcome, but it certainy would have had an impact. Bridgeport fans did not ALL clear the field before they should have--some of us stuck it out to the bitter end, and then waited through the school song. Which Decatur band played over.

We'll just see what happens next year. Go Bulls!

"Running up the score" 8:08 AM? Were you looking at the score? WAAAAAAAAY too low to be considered as "running up the score"! What game were you watching? I think the TD run was a young man taking an opportunity to make a score when it presented itself to him--THE WHOLE POINT OF MOST SPORTING EVENTS! Talk about a typical, overly sensitive/defensive, inferiority complex, chip-on-the-shoulder, Bridgeportian! (And I don't think Bridgeportians should feel that way, you have a fine comunity with a fine school spirit, by the way.) You revealed yourself big-time with such a stupid comment! Please, take some pride in yourself, and quit blaming Decatur for everything. I guess anytime Decatur tries to outscore Bridgeport, that's "running up the score"! I guess we'll be considered as sporting if we let you win all the time. Duh.

7:48...Don't be a soar loser..Decatur is just plain and simple...better than Bridgeport at everything. And yes that even means our coach celebrates better than yours.

59 wins for decatur
27 wins for bridgeport

Man that has to suck knowing your the step child in the rivalry...

Anonymous said...

knox city greyhounds would kill bridgeport and decatur. Knox City plays on dirt, not turf.

Anonymous said...

At least Decatur uses an Eagle from an NFL team, unlike B-port who is Rocking the Schlitz Malt Liquor Bull. Whats that say about Bridgeport or the man who continues to use it?

Anonymous said...

I don't want to hear any "excuses" about injuries from any B'port people. Decatur has had more than it's fair share of injuries. The difference between us an B'port is we have depth and we are able to rise above it. Go use that excuse on another team you lose against.

Anonymous said...

Oh and as far as Decatur running up the score...it's not QB fault you couldn't stop him.

Anonymous said...

It dosn't matter how many sophmores Bridgeport had playing. Really, that should come as bad news to all you Bridgeport fans knowing that you have a bunch of sophmores on varsity that can't cut it. Decatur uses two sophmores that play sparingly and do what they can. We know how to win with the kids we've got up there, if we didn't we would probably be oh 4-3 or something instead of 7-0. There were atleast four starters missing for decatur during that game and one that got hurt before
the half. We can overcome injuries better than yall. I
guess that means that we are just better across the
board. Running up the score????!!! Lol clueless, yea running a qb draw right up the middle is running up the score alright. I would have hated to see our turn over in yalls redzone go for a touchdown, then it would have made the score 37-16...that would have really been considered running the score then i guess?!?!?!

Hey 9:26 AM, #24 was only reacting to a fist in the chin. I think he did a very good job of asking #9 why he felt he needed to give out a cheap shot after a play!

# 24's Dad, not hard to find!

How many teams in the US are Eagles and hgow many are Bulls. Individuality is the key.

Decatur Eagle fans letting out all their frustrations after several losing seasons in a row!
Can someone please tell me when the last time Decatur won a playoff game, for the life of me, I can't remember!

drugs do that to u 10:15

gosh people!!! Talk about mean spirited a**hol**!!

These are kids you are talking about!!!!

get over it! Decatur played better obviously , Bridgeport has injured players and not much depth, BOTH teams took cheap shots, but c'mon!! Quit talking crap about both teams!!!!! Get over it!!! IT's a game!!!

The Bulls won the food drive!

I'm also from Decatur, and I think starting with the cheerleaders at pep rallies through to the players at the game - I GET IT - you're excited to start the game, but we still need to teach respect and WAIT until the final notes of the anthem are played before celebrating.

I don't think the kids really understand that, and it's gone on for years now, and a simple lesson from their coach or administrator might help.

Someone needs to explain to them that they need to wait and WHY they need to wait.

Anyone stepping up to the plate?
